Learning to Onewheel is not hard, the board does most of the work for you. It's also one of the most fun things on planet earth so we'd suggest you give it a try. Pint keep riders balanced. All too often people say, 'I could never do that'. 5 minutes later they're cruising around with a huge grin. Caylee breaks down what you need to know to get started.

I've had my XR for about a week now and well, I've noticed that carrying a little speed makes things easier. Here's the kicker...I haven't been outside yet because it's been raining like a cow peein' on a flat rock. So, according to the odometer, I've clocked 3 miles with a top speed of 8.6 mph...in my house. Limited space has forced me to learn control. No sheetrock repairs yet. So far, so good. Man I wish it would stop raining! ~8^)

No questions, I don't want a nice apologetic email from customer service concluding with a smiley emoji, no excuses, just send it. NOW. DO IT. YOU WON'T REGRET SENDING IT. IT'S A FEELING UNLIKE ANY OTHER SENDING IT OUT TO A SATISFIED CUSTOMER. ACT FAST. BE PART OF THE SATISFYING CUSTOMERS COMMUNITY.

Have owned and ridden a Onewheel+ for almost 3 years now. LOVE IT! Film on it all the time. My tips are this. Having a wheel cover is so helpful. I learned how to ride and center my weight best when I could bring my front foot (or the foot on the activation pad) super close, pretty much snugged up against the wheel guard. That helped so much when riding in the beginning. I've also learned over time, that while you may feel like your putting pressure on your front or back foot to both accelerate and slow down, you're hips or body may tend to shift to the extent that you are no longer "weight centered" on the board. This will cause the phenomena where your trying to brake but the board is still picking up speed. Training your body to stay completely centered on the board was critical and for me to feel confident riding hard on challenging terrain. that all happens with shifting my hips....not bending my knees or applying pressure to one foot or the other. As you find your center, you can get much more liberal with actual foot pressure to carve, jump etc. Lastly, ease super slow up hill in the beginning. You'll catch your front edge and nose dive every time if you're trying to accelerate too fast uphill. And start slow across the board. Spend the first month just getting acclimated, riding every day until the battery runs out before you start bombing bike trails and hard core off road stuff. There are new muscles in your feet, calves and legs that have to get used to this board. The first week you'll feel like it's easy and then all of a sudden you'll be riding and realize that you have no idea how the board actually works. Anyone waiting for the Pint, it will be well worth the wait when you're still riding the same board 3-5 years from now, except in reality, you'll most likely upgrade to the XR before then for a longer ride which I'm on schedule to do this year. Worth every penny. LOVE LOVE LOVE OW!

Disclaimer: I’m a 100kg bloke with absolutely no background in board sports who sometimes loses balance standing still - don’t take any of my advice as wrote. I’ve put my first 2 - 2 1/2 hours on the pint and would like to share a few initial tips I’ve found that have helped me get more confident. Don’t be afraid to use a wall, particularly if you don’t have anybody to support you, just palm your way along the wall with the motor running and get used to the feel of being on the board. Focus on controlling you slowing down and stopping. I usually use the heel lift, and you want to make sure you’re lifting correctly, as in, you should feel the lift up in your Achilles’ tendon. I found I was also falling forwards when I started this, so you might find it helpful to counterweight your back foot heel to touch the board down evenly. Stop until it feels natural because when something doesn’t go the way you expect, the brain’s natural instinct is to panic, and that’s how you get hurt. Work on getting the instinct to become stopping and if you get it wrong, don’t lose your confidence or psyche yourself out. I’ve messed up 100 times already and if I can make progress, you can too!

1. Helmet good, wrist guards too even better. 2. More Emphasis on keeping weight over the wheel. Glad to see the word "lean" left out. Increased center of gravity over the front = increased nose-dive risk. 3. Simple stop should be used for learning only. Having the ability to reverse is important and more fun 4. Ya, maybe this video has a "sting" to it (because of delays as said) ... But honestly, I'd rather know that *new* riders are getting educated B4 they open their onewheels. The excitement is all to real and only burns brighter. It can distract you from remembering to respect the ride and your surroundings. Long live the Float Life.

I feel your pain if you decided to go pint and are waiting. That must be so nerve racking. Theory: There may be 2 types of complainers in this camp. Start with first time buyers; When I made my decision in April I thought long and hard about just...this...exactly. After taking into account range (stoke extension capability) the XR was the clear winner. I ABSOLUTELY want a Pint, just not for my first and only Onewheel. I wish you'd chosen XR. Second are people who already have a Onewheel and are adding to your stable; Bro, stop complaining- some people don't know the joy yet at all! Go ride your plus or XR and wait. You signed up for this. And for all those positive people out there that aren't complaining or griefing a fantastic company and who are loyal dedicated fans, stoke on people. I love you all!

Oof. Lean much? Leaning like that is all fine and dandy when you're going slow, but do that at 20+mph you're gonna nosedive for sure. If you're reading this and you're new to Onewheel, DO NOT lean like this. Keep your head and shoulders back and use your hips, legs and feet to do the weight shifting.

Probably worth looking into dialing back the pushback feature. I was thrown off my board by it, spraining my elbow. What had I been doing? Riding in a perfectly straight line on an empty street and had hit the top speed without realizing it. The problem is that instead of a "gentle nose-up" to warn me to slow down, the board just shot up and became completely unstable, forcing me to ditch at about 12 mph. There was no time or option to lean back to slow down as the board began to wobble instantly. Your "safety feature" is what caused my injury and is why I haven't been able to get back on the board since. Had it been better designed, I'd be healthy and commuting on my board today rather than having it sitting in my house collecting dust until my arm heals. Would it kill you to install an audible alarm in the boards to let you know you are nearing pushback, so that a rider can slow down while the board is under control? Or maybe just have the boards slow down gradually instead of unexpectedly changing the plane/elevation of the board which is a great way to throw new riders off-balance?

Ya'll couldn't include a wheel cover? This thing costs $1400 and you couldn't include a wheel cover so we don't get burned on our ankles?

Just broke my collarbone on your bullshit board.. Thing randomly nosedived multiple times at normal speeds, the last time shattering my collarbone in three places.. No pushback, no warning signs, nothing.. I weigh 180lbs and was going 13mph when the thing just randomly threw me off.. Wtf gives? This thing feels completely unsafe and untrustworthy.. one minute it's riding great, the next it just goes dead mid ride and nearly kills me..

Can I get an update on this? Faulty board or were you inexperienced when writing this?
@gstylez0107
@gstylez0107 3 жыл бұрын
@@stu7900 It was mostly inexperience but not completely. I was already a competent rider but these boards do have an amp draw limitation. If you accelerate too quickly or force them uphill too hard, especially below 30 percent battery, you WILL eventually nosedive. There will be no warning, you will hit the ground.. hard.. The whole "kickback" warning is b.s. and just a legal way for future motion to protect themselves by claiming there is a built in warming. That's not true. It can happen without any warning, you won't have time to react. I have seen three friends buy onewheels and all of them experienced injuries to some degree due to this limitation.. Like I said though, it can be avoided. Simply don't over accelerate, especially on inclines or low battery. I still ride mine all the time, and hard. We pound up mountain trails, I've even hit 25mph racing downhill (it wont overvolt and cut out going downhill), so they're relatively safe so long as you fully understand the voltage limitations and where that line sits.. I still have metal in my shoulder, but I also still love my onewheel and fully believe it's the future of board transportation. These things are amazing.. but just like all technology, it isn't perfect. It's a tradeoff. You will have to trade a bit of safety in order to experience the magic, just like all extreme sports (and yes, this is an extreme sport)

@@gstylez0107 Good to hear. I've come to a similar conclusion after owning the pint for a few weeks and taking it onto some trails. Experienced my first nose dives there on low battery acceleration or mud. Float on man and thanks for the update!!
