Very good, fully detailed video. I'm 60 years old, grandma. I bought a pint about 17 months ago. I'm just now getting comfortable simple stopping it. Its so nimble. Last week I squatted down a bit like surfers stance while preparing to slowing down. I plopped forward on my knees. My front foot managed to stay on onewheel. I had knee pads and wrist guards on. I was spinning all over the ground uncontrollably and seemed fast. I couldn't break free. All of a sudden it dragged me into my garage freezer. I heard a loud bang. Theres now a nice dent in my freezer. I'm fortunate to have been low to ground. The whole thing is funny but standing up and keeping your front foot only on sensors is a death wish. I have been extra careful in learning this device. I highly recommend listening to this guy. Don't be a fool. Wear the proper gear also.

I was teaching a friend to ride my XR last September and was attempting to demonstrate what happens if you step off the board with only one foot. I have demo'd this successfully before, but this time I wasn't on grass or slick concrete like in the video. The board took off on me (as expected) but went to the right when I expected it to take off left. Took me down pretty hard and my shoulder is still sore ~5 months later. Moral of the story, be careful not to hurt yourself trying to demonstrate what NOT to do haha.

personally ive taught about 5 or 6 people how to ride. of those people the people that learned it the quickest (by far) only held onto me to get the motor started and find initial balance before being left with their own balance only. Its brutal but deffo helps. Also with new people I recommend hip twisting rather than tilting your feet as for new people they wont have the foot strength needed to steer with feet at any kind of speed and will get super super wobbly. Just my opinion on that really, not tryin to make digs or disregard your methods. Was a fantastic video :)

This video is SOOOOOOOO HELPFUL! Your channel rocks man. I've been mastering a Skillboard all winter (here in Canada) and I picked up the One Wheel in 20 minutes. If you are going in a straight line on smooth flat ground pretty much anyone can do it but you had better have that side to side balance down if you are offroading.

Yes, thank you! Great video. I wonder about the importance of the dominant foot. We should be learning regular and switch, but I think most people if asked, would rather be facing passing traffic, more than be worried about the dominant foot forward. I'll say this but it's just a hunch. I ride dominant forward (regular), I feel like if I had learned weakest foot forward (goofy) first, learning dominant foot forward would be easier. Now I'm competent riding regular and terribly uncomfortable changing to switch and having lots of trouble with it

If you turn the motor off and then put your weight back on both sensors, and then you move the board past a level position, it will turn on again.

One other great thing to teach people who struggle with jump bails, is if you MUST remove a foot, ALWAYS use the front foot to plant on the ground around where your back foot is, making a I _ shape with left being your front foot and right being the back foot on a board. _ I for goofy riders
