The one skill that bails me out of the toughest spots on the trail is also one of the most versatile skills you can have on two wheels. Using an "English Hop" or simultaneous two-wheeled hop, SPD hop, clipless hop, (and the many other names it goes by) will give you a chance to quickly reset and rebalance yourself and your bike when things go sideways.
In this video we break down all the different uses for the technique, in addition to how to do each one. I'll also put this skill into context by riding one of the most difficult "trails" that I know. Actually, it's the place that I go to challenge myself on my Trials Bike, but I thought it might be fun to do a MTB video here, too.
