The No Hose Rinseless Wash method -- and this variation, which includes using our Fine Grade Clay Towel -- is best used on vehicles with light to moderate dirt and dust. In this case, we're demonstrating the method on a coated vehicle, which was already relatively clean. This method is 100% doable on any car; however, if you have access to a hose so that you can spray off most of the gunk FIRST, you'll have the safest possible process. We chose to go NO HOSE for this video, just to show that it IS possible. Again, Rinseless Wash means you don't rinse at the END....

Yet another great video, guys! I’ve been doing about 80% rinseless washes on my personal vehicles lately, using pretty much this same process (except I use the IK 12 for the rinseless pre-spray and the IK pump foamer for the wheels) and I’m still a huge Ceramic Gloss acolyte as my drying aid. Sometimes if the wheels are a bit more dirty, I’ll use some Extra Tough Wheel and Tire Cleaner since it’s rinseless as well.

Great video guys, I've started doing more rinseless washes on our cars lately and it saves me tons of time. I will do a pre spray on the entire vehicle including the wheels snd tires, then once im done with the wash I'll use the remaining wash liquid and use a dedicated microfiber on the wheels and tires, once they aren't that dirty I don't need to scrub the tires. I'll then use a drying aid during the drying process and the cars come out really clean and glossy. Thanks for all the great tutorials.

Same here friend. I use early weekend mornings to do both family cars in the parking lot, but once it got a bit cooler to work comfortably, I loaded gear into car and just did it after work in the parking garage. Tip: I use empty bottles of distilled water (which are essentially 1 gallon each) to carry my premixed rinseless solution in car, then dump out into bucket and sprayer when im ready to go. Though I'm looking at getting a multi pro 9 or 12 this year (ideally with schrader valve for making life easier and faster), if I do I'll just fill that thing up and dump some out into bucket when needed

Using only high-end towels from the rag company i keep having a issue of what seems like lent when doing the final dry on a rinseless wash. Advice on how to take care of that would be amazing, i stumbled across it in a diy podcast but cant seem to find the remedy to the problem. Changing process of drying the vehicles when using a rinseless or changing the process of how they are cleaned? Funny you ask in the video, I'm actually trying to find a way to perfectly clean my wheels in rinse less conditions and I think I've found a system based on a multitude of videos. I can't stand half cleaned wheels and undressed tires so it's why I go to this length. Essentially it's basically a traditional wash for the wheels, except my wheel bucket has a rinse less mix with my cleaning tools and I have a 2 gallon pump sprayer filled with water which acts as my hose. I pair that with some wheel/tire cleaner (currently use brake buster for example) and clean them as normal really. After rinsed of, I proceed with the rinse less wash of the car. Also I like to mention since I mostly do these in winter here in Quebec, it gets dirty ha, I like to go to a coin wash in the first place to rinse most things off.

Both are amazing forms of protection, it really comes down to what you want. Some guys love the spray on, rinse off protection....paint gets a bit slicker than ceramic gloss so drying is a breeze. But others like the traditional drying method of using Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid and adding protection at the same time. I guess that's all to say...use both, see what you like!

Thanks for the input! Between the 2 of them, which protection is “stronger” or last longer or are they the same? Assume both are exposed to the same environment.

Tried the rinseless today after lots of pollen and residue from trees were on my truck. Rinsed with water, pretreated with sprayer, then used sponge. Still had dirt spots, pollen spots, and built up residue. Sometimes you just have to use soap and water.

It has also happened to me with my vehicle when it is dirtier than expected to use the rinseless method and what I do is pass the sponge over the same area that I just cleaned with the other side of the sponge and that is enough so that no residue remains on the surface.

I know that you both are professionals but redunking your sponge into the same bucket aren't you spreading dirt each time it hits the car? That bucket of rinseless water looks pretty dirty!

It may look dirty but it’s completely safe. When you pull the sponge from the bucket there’s no dirt on the sponge it stays in the bucket. Buy some DIY Rinseless, McKees 37 rinseless or optimum no rinse you ain’t scratching anything trust 😭

Hey Ivan, continuously asserting your superior wisdom at NIck's expense with little corrections and call-outs is a bad look. The "…a little too much product" barb at 9:00 has no instructional value to the viewer. At 11:41, you point out that Nick said he was using Ceramic Gloss when he was actually using Quick Beads. Pointing out your co-host's verbal mistakes comes off as pompous, and the fact that you're mistaken-he never said he was using Ceramic Gloss-further emphases the impression.

Nick here….yep, I’m me and Yvan is Yvan, we both have our tendencies. I like to use a lot of product and have fun (sometimes I’m sloppy with my technique) Yvan is very passionate about doing things a certain way with an emphasis on Efficiency. Save money and time and get great results (by doing it a certain way). I kind of like to freestyle and Yvan believes deeply in a standard operating procedure. The push and pull makes for dynamic content, and we actually do have fun even if it can sometimes seem like there is some tension. If it’s easier to understand it this way…Yvan takes process, the doing of detailing and of running a business, incredibly seriously. It’s how he’s been so successful for so many years. But I hear you, thank you for caring so much about this that you would take time to share your thoughts publicly!

@@diydetailofficial Beautiful reply, Nick, and your quick, gracious, and thoughtful response is impressive! I've watched both yours and Ivan's content for years. You with Hawk Pro, and Ivan with Detailers Business Academy, Optimum, and many guest appearances on other channels. Both of you bring years of experience and an obvious love of detailing. And yes, you're a little bit on opposite ends of the style spectrum. I'm excited to try DIY products-they all look interesting and well formulated. I sincerely wish you both tremendous success! I mentioned the above only because I was distracted by it and noticed a similar pattern in other DIY videos. It's clear you like and respect Ivan. If he's comfortable demonstrating the same in return, it would erase any weirdness and help to reconcile your somewhat contrary approaches to detailing. Forgive me for straying so far from the subject matter of your videos. I speak from many years working in and studying the broadcast and entertainment industries. I firmly believe, it's the little things.

No matter how careful you are using that clay towel, it’s going to marr the paint every time. Would skip that unless polishing.

I respectfully disagree, I use rinseless and either quick beads or ceramic gloss and I've had no marring. No pressure and ample lubrication is the way
@05xrunner
@05xrunner Жыл бұрын
you are completely wrong. Proper lube and there is no marring on the paint after. I did it on my Camaro when I brought it home did it again on my Buddies brand new highlander 2weeks ago and there was ZERO marring or scratches added to the paint from using the clay towel on it and used proper lube.
