Wheel maintenance is vital to the performance of your inline figure skates. Learn in this quick tutorial how to disassemble and rotate your wheels, as well as why you should rotate your wheels regularly.
This tutorial is aimed at 3-wheel artistic inline figure skate frames, but the same principles should apply to 4-wheel blades. The spacers in this video are slightly different than typical inline spacers, and so removing them from the core of your wheel is different to normal inline wheels as well.
Check out my instagram here, I try to post as often as possible;

Love your videos! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and inspiring others to try this fun sport. You’re really bringing the inline community forward. Could you please share the brand of wheels you’re using? I haven’t started skating yet, I’m still attempting to do spins on the edea e-spinner but I’ve always wanted black wheels instead of the speedmax ones. One day when I’m decent and have worn through my several backup pairs of speedmaxes that I bought with my snow whites, I’ll upgrade to the ice fly edeas and white horse frames with black wheels 😎😁

Thank you for showing me how to properly use my tools! Lol Also have you ever had issues with new bearings and wheels not wanting to rotate freely? I have some that are fine but others not fine. If I loosen the axel they spin feeling but then the axel bolts spin too.

@Hazook 3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had that issue yet😅 what type of spacers are they? The standard 8mm tube or the spacer with the axle built into it? If it’s just the spacer, you might want to try swapping it out with one of the spacers you got from Snow White-specific wheels (eg. SpeedMax). It could also be that there’s a lot of dust buildup inside your bearings and you might have to clean them, in which case there are a lot of KZfaq tutorials for rollerblade/rollerskate bearing cleanings (non-inline figure tutorials should still work).

@@Hazook they are synergy wheels and I got more bearings and spacers with the wheels in a complete pack. The bearings and axel bolts that also came with it stayed in a ziplock bag. But I will take apart one of my speed max wheels see if the spacer is different in any way.

Hmm I’m not too sure then😥 You might want to try contacting synergy to see if you might have been sent a defective product?

@@Hazook it’s been months now since I got them so not sure they would fall under warranty anymore. I will try everything before I call them bad. I may just need to use the other spacers or they need oil.

I hope it works out! That’s a real shame though, synergy wheels seem like a great product but they can get pricy once shipping and taxes get added to the cost😣

Hey I bought some Snow White frames and I’ve skated a few times on them and I’m not sure if they are the best fit for me , I find them sooo diffrent from the ice and I’m wandering if they where a bad buy , what was your experience moving onto them ???

I think with all inline figure skates, you can’t expect them to be exactly like ice skates. Wheels on concrete feels different from blades on ice and so you should be prepared for some differences. That being said, it’s still possible to do a slightly modified version of most ice elements on inline; I’ve learned everything from backwards 3-turns to eagles to to camel spins to all my jumps on inline first which I then moved to ice! If you check out my Instagram, you can kinda see how my spins and jumps differ from ice to inline! Good luck!!!

Do you have some sort of wheel preference?? I can barely skate with the speed max wheels on a tennis court but the harmony sports on them feel comfortable. I think I just like the grip but I’m a newbie so I’m not sure if it’s a bad habit to go for indoor on outdoor surfaces for my skating. I know it might ruin the wheels quicker but I have yet to explore different wheels on different surfaces yet.

I actually tend to prefer harder wheels because it feels like I can spin a little better on them. I also don’t like my wheels to wear down quick so I opt for harder wheels, but I think especially when you start out, you should go with what’s more comfortable for you. You could also look into wheels that are in between outdoor and indoor (maybe around 75-80A?) and see if that fixes any issues?

hey I've never really ice skated before but I want 2 start learning however I probably won't be able to go to an ice rink for a really long time (not just because of covid). do have any idea on how going from inlines to ice will be? love ur vids btw :)
@Hazook
@Hazook 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! And I think that going from inline to ice is totally doable! I learned basics (how to fall properly, how to do crossovers, how to skate backwards etc) on ice, but all my jumps and most of my elements I learned on inlines over a couple summers and moved them onto the ice. I worry a little bit about not having guidance to fall properly so you don’t hurt yourself when you start working on harder skills, but it’s still completely possible to learn on inline and move to ice later. You can see on my Back to Ice video that there’s an adjustment period though so be prepared!
