Hey Hazuki, this video has really helped during my isolation where I can’t go to the ice rink for a week or so.

I don't skate, but you did entertain me for the whole 12+ minutes! I'm thinking about starting to skate in the garage, since I don't wanna go skating outside at first

Aww thank ya! When I started, I skated almost exclusively on my porch, and it took me ages before I built up enough confidence to skate in a public place (it's still kinda terrifying to me tbh). Ice skating forced me to be in public which I think is what helped me with inline skating in public too😅

this is super helpful! ive been at the park all week and my confidence in trying new things has been, well, less than ideal, so maybe practicing little things in my kitchen will help ☺️

I really love my pic skates! I got the blue jazz wheels. But if you get them just switch to the p-14X ball pic. Replacement parts are super cheap too!

The level of psychic going on rn is crazy considering it's been super rainy and cold here for the past week (cold for Austrralia, we get to like 5 degrees C and start complaining lol)

Haha, it’s been clammy-cold on and off for about a month here so one minute I’m in a tank top and shorts, and the next, I’m wearing a sweater and 3 blankets🥲

Hey Hazuki, do you reckon you could do these exercises as a beginner who hasn’t had much experience skating as well as no toe stop?
@Hazook
@Hazook 2 жыл бұрын
I think some of the edge-based exercises could be possible without toe stops but beyond that, I’m not too sure. You might be able to try the exercises in my edge video (except the 3-turn based ones)?

i'm a beginner inline skater with no experience on ice and i've really been struggling with edges, i can't seem to maintain my balance on my snow whites let alone get a steady even curve, especially for outside edges! i'm not quite sure what the problem is - any ideas please? :')
@Hazook

I think you should double check your boots first. My biggest issue with edges on both inlines and ice stem from the wrong amount (wether it’s too much or not enough) of support for your ankles. Make sure your knees are nice and bent, keep your chest up, shoulders level, and try not to look at your feet too much. It’s a little hard to say without seeing you skate but those are generally the biggest issues people have with edges.

@Hazook
@Hazook 3 жыл бұрын
If you could let me know the brand/type of frames you want and which country you live in, I might be able to help? Worst comes to worst, you may have to import them though.

@@Hazook ohh thank you im from the Philippines and im a ice-skater and there is no open ice skating Area yet here.. and this is my first time to here that inline figure skate. So i guess the frame that i choose PIC
@Hazook
@Hazook 3 жыл бұрын
PIC doesn't have a Filipino dealer listed on their website so I think you'll have to import them from elsewhere. You could also try other brands maybe? Sorry I can't be of more help!

How can anyone afford these... My dreams flew out the window tonight, learning that not only are they impossible to find, rarely have size 11 womens, and more importantly..the pricing is ridiculous... Really bites.
@Hazook
@Hazook 3 жыл бұрын
I'm really sorry to hear you're having trouble finding a set. They are quite pricey and sadly has a huge barrier of entry. You could try to look for roller-skates (quad skates) because they also have a lot of figure skate-y moves you can learn on them? Those have a much wider selection of brands and price points, and also tend to be easier to find accessories and replacement parts for. I think size 11 would translate to #16-18 for Snow Whites (depending on the boots), which tend to be pretty popular sizes and often in stock online if that's any help?
