Isn't there a way for the shortcuts to display the gizmo? I find it odd that the behaviour of clicking the move tool shows the gizmo, which gives me plane move functionality, which I like, i.e. move in XY plane or XZ plane. I also find using the rotation gizmo a lot more intuitive, generally I don't want to rotate my object based on the orientation of my modelling camera position

number pad is all you need. detach it from the back so it freely moves without the grid. love to know how to do that

absolutely everything to do with rotate apart from what i came for! lol.. so im from c4d.. if my object is selected, and hit R i get an axis where i can choose to rotate on whichever axis.. the only way i can see i get this is to actually click the rotation button! surely theres a basic hotkey to get this?

Ive made an object and rotated it afterwards... I imported it to unity and it indeed also imported rotation of that object... Can I anyhow do something in blender so my current rotation would be new 0,0,0 ? so when I go to unity i'd be free to scale it along actual world axises and not in some weird ways?

hey mate i created a model but, i missed the perspective view. So my car's front view as a left side. left side to front side. So i needd to rotate it 90 degree. That's nice but when i rotate and export to unity it's going to f**ked up. So i need to rotate first 90 degree in blender then before the exporting i have to apply degree as 0 from rotated 90 degree. I hope i can understand. How can i do that .?

For some reason, I can't rotate objects without holding down my mouse1 button. Because of this I can't rotate along axis unless I use the N key to open that little tab on the top left.. Any clue how to set it back to how you have it?

I've been losing my mind trying to figure out why typing "RZ-90" hasn't been changing my shape at all...until I realized that rotating a square 90 degrees still makes it look exactly the same. 🤦‍♀️

The problem I have is when rotating in the older versions of blender; I could press 360 / 8 ,to make it rotate ⅛ of the way. Now when I hit the "/" key, it makes it "1 / [360]" instead. Does anyone know why that is?

thanks but how do you freeze transformations the object? If you are not a maya user, then freeze transformations is zeroing out the object's transformation values without changing or reseting the objects position

You could rebind it, but that would make things MUCH more difficult to use!

I need help, I did the R,Y. R,Z. and R,X. Thing and the object doesn’t stay in one spot and rotate it rotates while leaving that spot so I I want to rotate it a little it moves from my desired location and then I have to move the object again just to get it back where it was. Any help?

One thing that I hate now in 2.82 is that you cant use hotkeys like R 45 and then XYZ otherwise it becomes invalid, it never did that in previous years and i was like, what the hell????

R Z. But you have to edit the object so that the origin point is on the hinge of the door.
