Although it may seem crazy to sail around the world, once you analyze the various wind patterns and hurricane seasons and with a bit of planning it’s quite reasonable for anyone with a sense of adventure to do the same. There’s lots of ways to sail around the world. If you’re racing, you often use storms in the southern ocean to propel you along. It’s a completely different approach. One that requires serious boats that are built for those conditions. We on the other hand sail around the world by staying more or less in the trade wind belts. This stacks the odds in our favour. We often have the wind and waves behind, pushing us along and stay warm in the non-stop tropical conditions.

First time I ever heard about Swiftlets buildings in Indonesia. That’s pure genius farming the birds nest in a relatively safe controlled environment. Here in the Philippines people would dangerously wall climb inside dark caves to harvest them.

Greetings from New Zealand. It's a shame I wasn't in my home town when you guys came to NZ so I didn't get a chance to meet you beautiful people. Yet another amazing video from you. Ps. You make it seem so easy to do what you do, my work partners have sailed around the world on a mono multiple times. I frequently ask my mates how they did it but they weren't the most helpful but all I can gather from their laps around is its costly and its heartbreaking for me cause I may never get a chance to go on this amazing journey as its so so expensive, especially from such a little country like NZ. Non the less I'm gonna stop complaining have a great rest of your lap it seems so much fun.

Awesome, tks for posting. Let me tell you out of all the sailing around the world you tube channels, like 7 or 8 that I have watched, YOu are the only boat to catch nice size Yellow Fin tuna. Very cool. You know that it can be canned easily and tastes great fresh caught canned. All you need is a pressure cooker, and the mason jars, when done after 90 mins it will keep your entire trip of course no refridge needed. Just a thought so you will always have good food. Mixed with Hidden valley ranch dressing it is the bomb. Good luck, cheering you on from 90274. Oh have you caught any more YFT or Wahoo?

Loved this. I have never been sailing but you do an excellent job if explaining things. I would love a video explaining a bit more about the sails, why you would choose one over another. When would you use a Spinnaker? What’s a code zero? What’s a Gib? When would you use a main sail?? What’s a Dagger Board.... See I’m such a novice and I’ve so much to learn, but I love, love love your spirit of adventure. Stay safe and keep the vlogs coming. 😊

Love your videos. Would love it if you could explain in detail how you stay entire year in warm part, north & south hemisphere, which month exactly you star going toward south & which to north. And maybe explain more about where & when can you run into those hurricanes & stuff like that. I’m looking to buy a sailboat next year & live a board, but it would be nice if I could be in a warm/summer parts entire year. Also is it possible to fish tuna & other fish in international waters & sell it in harbors of different countries if I have a small fishing company opened in Panama for sailing under the flag of convenience?? I hope I gave you a good idea for a video it would be helpful. Also I’m thinking about buying a ketch made of steel with full keel. In my opinion that’s the best for blue waters(safest).
