Learn how to scan document from printer to computer. In this video see how to scan documents onto your Windows computer using Canon printer PIXMA MG2522.

Here's a way to do it manually. Select Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners or use the following button. Open the Printers & scanners settings. Select Add a printer or scanner. Wait for it to find nearby scanners, then choose the one you want to use, and select Add device.

Thanks for sharing how to scan and save the documents. That’s very helpful. But I was wondering, when you scan multiple documents, can they be saved into one PDF? I tried doing so, but when I saved the pages, they saved in my documents as separate PDF documents and was unable to combine them into one. Thanks.

Yes, you sure can. I believe at or around 3:11 in video, once the first page scanned is completed, don't click on Exit on prompt but click on Continue and scan your next page. This will combine both pages into one pdf document.

What do you do if your scan comes back as a ?

Is there any way to press key on the printer itself to initiate a scan? I'd like to be able to be standing at the unit holding certain things down with my hands such that I can't reach the computer to operate the scan utility with my mouse/keyboard. I've looked but haven't seen any evidence that there is a function "scan manually" button that is a hidden feature of one of the buttons on the unit. (I kinda thought there WOULD be.)

There is no manual scan button on printer. Scan function is only initiated through your PC.

This was fine and helped me scan a document into PDF format. But I cannot seem to find how to scan a document of any kind into a jpg format, and it's nearly impossible to find amongst the 500+ pages of their manual. Is there a KZfaq covering this? If so, I cannot find it. Thank you.

Go to Windows Start Menu and scroll down to "Canon Utilities" and using the "Canon U Scan Utility" you can scan as Photo, Document, OCR, Custom...etc and you will be able too.

Thank you so much. This was so simple. You clearly not only know your stuff, you care about people. Truly a God send. I tried to follow the instructions from Canon. but they made it impossible. Bunch of dirty MF"s. Must have a "service" that they sell.

This printer can only scan one page at a time. No multi page function.

I go to my image garden try to click scan, but it's not highlighted

I've seen this happen before and the reason it was not highlighted, was that the wrong printer driver or a older printer driver version was installed on the computer laptop. Try uninstalling the print driver through Apps and Features and then download and install the printer driver again (make sure it's the correct and latest full printer driver package for the MG2522).

The app/utility is included in the latest Full Driver and Software package for Windows from Canon website: www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-mg2522?tab=drivers_downloads It should be the first one on the list of software & drivers.
