I am not a baseball player but I've had a rotary cuff injury along with 4 tendons with tendinitis and 2 bursas for 5 years and these exercises have helped greatly with the pain and strengthening in just a short time. Thank you

Thanks for the detailed explanation of the standing "W" band exercises! I like it much better than the standard lying-face-down "W" exercises.

I caught something heavy with my arm and ever since then my shoulder hasn't been the same every so often I wake up and it feels a little out of place with pain until I raise up my arm as if I were trying to give a high five and I hear a crack/pop noise only then do I get relieved. So I find myself using this method for the past 2 years now. Please I need help any advice will help. I tried going to the doctors and they did a X-ray said I was fine.

Do this exercise require warming up?
@pillowzzzbox3466

hey. yes I have rotator cuff tendon it is in my left shoulder. I also notice that it kinda hurts my neck muscles too. but that's also cuz I neglect to warm up my neck..bout to see a pt soon..it has been healing slowly but surely over the past 2 wks. much better than the pain of day 1 when it all happened. sucks tho cuz I just started my training for boxing and kickboxing. Dr told me to stay off of it until it is healed. how long does it take? this also stems from before an overuse of muscles when I was doing calisthenics.

Hi , there 3 years ago I was doing side lateral press and shoulder blade started hurting . At that I had full range of motion and pain went away after a week . I tried to do push ups after 2 weeks and pain cAme back so I stopped and gave up exercise . Pain was in front of the shoulder and also back of the shoulder . I started doing rehab exercise using 5 lbs bands and it hurts little after few hours or next day and it goes away. With normal activities I have no pain what so ever . I am in my 40s and I want to do little bit of weight training and I am afraid I can’t because it will cause more damage . I went to doctor and he said I don’t have tear and may be just a minor impingement. Do you think with these type of rehab exercises tendinitis or brusitis can be completely healed ? And can these type of exercise cause more damage ? Again , I only use 5 lbs bands and I am using proper forms . Please advise . Thx

hey i need your help i have pain in my lower tricep and i think it might be tricep tendonitus how long should i take off throwing if i do?
@DrChrisMcKenzie
@DrChrisMcKenzie 8 жыл бұрын
+Bob Smith I need a lot more info to answer that question. In general, if throwing bothers you, don't throw right now. Take 1-2 weeks off to strengthen the area (if that's what it needs--if it does--slowly lower any tricep weight back to it's starting position then push it back up.) Some ideas: skull crushers, tricep push downs, close grip push ups, etc.

prithwiraj bhardwaj you need to seek help from someone qualified and local to you. I don't know what you have but if strengthening makes it worse, you may need more mobility/flexibility/ and improved range of motion. Do you feel better when you stretch? Sleeper stretch? Sounds like posterior deltoid spasm or cuff injury to me. Avoid all activities that bother it and get checked out ASAP.

I have pain in the back of my shoulder when throwing (decelerating). Is that weakness of the muscles or me not engaging the proper muscles?
@DrChrisMcKenzie

I would think the reactive hypercirculation helps because the tendon is traditionally a poorly circulated area.

Hey. i have question. i have rotator cuff tendonitis. its been months. pain its less but never go away cuz i never sttoped lifting. can i use this routine and still working out?
@cmm832
@cmm832 7 жыл бұрын
@basementgainz: avoid any and all weight lifting that bothers your shoulder, and follow the video. Then try to slowly, with less weight, begin weight training again...but I would wait a solid 3-4 weeks before you do. Again, don;t stop working out, but avoid the exericises that directly bother your shoulder for 3-4 weeks. Hope that helps man. Good luck. Keep me posted. Happy new Year

Thanks for advice Man. im doing my best with picking up exercises which not bother my shoulder. Its so frustrating cuz its holding me from heavy lifts. What do U think about cortisone shot? im desperate cuz its been months. its way better but still it's there. Happy New Year Brother
@cmm832

cortisone/steroid injection could help. Get checked out by an ortho or a good PT in your area to see what they think if you're not getting any better in 2 weeks.

Is it normal to have a clicking/popping sound when doing the first exercise. I’m using a soup can as a weight. If not further information would be great as to what this could be and solutions to help fix it. Great video!
@DrChrisMcKenzie
@DrChrisMcKenzie 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks @HaVok! Sleeper stretch or sidelying external rotation? Regardless, shouldn't have a click with either one. If during sleeper--try rolling your body backward more, or even more forward. If sidelying external rotation--try squeezing your shoulder blade towards your spine (don't shrug up, and do not bring your elbow behind your body). Let me know!

Dr Chris McKenzie Subscribed! The sleeper stretch. I noticed that if I laid too far “open” or “back” the noise occurred. After taking your advice and experimenting a bit I feel like it has improved since I performed it last session. Thankyou for replying so fast! I’ve been a competitive year long baseball player my whole life and I appreciate everything you have to help me keep my arm healthy

have you seen a PT? not to undermine physicians, but they aren't movement specialists. Get to a good PT in your area, and they'll find your limitations and improve them so you can have less or no pain.
@DrChrisMcKenzie

@shaik--Rest is the #1 inhibitor to healing...only because rest alone is terrible. It's good to calm pain, but once the damage is done, your tissues are 100% always weaker.....and potentially tighter. Until you do something to specifically strengthen the tissue, (or lengthen the tissue if it needs it) it will always bother you. Go see a good PT in your area plzzz!

Sorry bud. Sounds more like a rotator cuff tear...but without physically examining you, I cant make a diagnosis. You likely have lots of muscle spasm too, and someone who can alleviate them, such as a professional skilled in Active Release Techniques can help reduce your pain drastically in the short term. Best of luck @superiorshine. Where in the world are you located?

Here is the Gospel (or, Good News): God says that we are sinners and that no amount of good works or behavioral changes on our part could ever make us holy enough to enter into Heaven. God sent His only begotten Son to be crucified on the cross to pay for our sins. Jesus paid a debt that He did not owe, because we owed a debt of sin that we could not pay. 2nd Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Jesus paid for our sins by dying on the cross for us all. His dead body was buried in a grave. On the third day, Jesus raised up bodily from the dead. The instant you believe this, God knows it and He saves you. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” The free gift (Romans 5:15) is based solely upon your trust in what Jesus did for you, and has absolutely nothing to do with what you do for Him. Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” It is that simple my friend to be saved.
