In currently Wise is not open widely in Cambodia, we're Cambodian, and we can't use Wise to receive every payments from others currently. I have joined Wise about a year ago, but I still haven't received a swift code😥 However, Wise will open widely for Cambodian people in future, that's what we hoped for. Thanks Wise🥺

Your recipient doesn’t need a Wise Account to receive money. They just need to provide bank details for the currency they want to receive, and your Wise transfer will be securely deposited into their regular bank account for convenience. Hi wise, i still don’t have the USD account details, but I have GBP account details set up. I will need to receive USD from the sender and I will need to convert it to PHP. How will I be able to receive USD? Also, can I just use my Wisetag for them to send over the money? Or will I need to send the GBP account details?

Hi, Angelica. If you're expecting a payment in USD, we'd suggest opening an account details in the same currency. More about this here: wi.se/usdbalances And once received, you can then convert it to any available currency. Now, as for Wisetag feature, you can share it with your sender, it's an easy and fast way for receiving or requesting money from other Wise users. Ok I am a bit confused now. For my transfer from MYR to GBP bank account in the UK, can I use the balance on my Wise or must I use bank transfer payment method during the transfer process? I tried to set up the transfer (without actually transferring any money) using my MYR wise balance without any problem at all up to the "confirm and send" page. Will I encounter problem if I use my MYR wise balance to transfer to UK bank account ?

You should be able to use your MYR balance, yes. So in that sense you can disregard the first comment, as there was incorrect info there (Once more, sorry about that 🙇). So long as you can choose your balance as the payment method, or alternatively have the option to click "Send" directly from your MYR balance, it should be fine. However, if you do notice any issues, our DMs are open on other supported social media platforms, for more direct assistance. Keep in mind that MYR does have some limitations in terms of how much you can send and certain recipient amounts, even from a balance, so be sure to check the article we shared earlier: wi.se/guidetomyr for more info.

Ok seems clear but I dont hear her explaining more on option 1. "Making transfer via other bankaccount, without wise balance" how does that work out. Does wise deduct the amount from your bankaccount or how???

Is there an internal forward at the app that takes you to you bank acoount?? Or do you have you go into your online bank app and make the deposit to wise? If so what is the wise account nr?? This part I dont understand

The exact answer to this can depend on the currency you're paying with, since different ones will have different payment options available 😉 But you'd be correct that both - being given deposit account details for a manual payment, and being redirected to complete the payment in-app - are possible in most cases. If I add money from my bank debit account to my Wise account balance, then send to my recipient from this Wise balance, ain't I getting double charged in fees? Or is it cheaper going from my bank debit directly to my recipient bypassing my Wise balance account?

Hey there. We appreciate seeing that you'd like to learn more about sending funds using your account with us. So whether it would cost more to first add funds to a balance in your account with us, and then send these out - or to set up a payment from your external bank account using our platform in order to directly send money to the intended recipient, would depend on the involved currencies. In some cases, it's free to add funds from your bank account to a balance in your account with us, given that no conversion fee is involved. For some currencies, however, such as USD or CAD, you'll need to pay a fee for this even if no conversion were to be required. So in case no conversion fee, and/or additional fee would have to be paid in order to top up a balance in your account with us, then the total costs for sending money to your recipient wouldn't be more than if you were to send the funds directly from your external bank account. On the other hand, if such fees would be involved when it comes to topping up a balance in your account with us, then it may be more cost-efficient for you to fund your payment directly from your external bank account, through your account with us. For a more elaborate overview when it comes to the fees we charge for holding, receiving, and spending money, go here: wi.se/account-fees Furthermore, please note that we're upfront and transparent when it comes to the fees we charge you, and we'll make sure to let you know what you'll be paying during the set-up phase of your payment, due to how we're set up as an online financial institution. Hey, Dmytro! At the moment we only have the option to add a reference. If your recipient needs more info, we recommend sending it separately to them, if possible (The reference can still be used by them to match the payment, if needed).

If you're trying to send money to someone who uses a different currency than you, can send them money with Wise, by setting a transfer, and selecting the currency you'd like to send to, and the currency you like to pay for your transfer in. Hey Wise Team, I'm in Morocco and want to use Wise to send and receive money internationally, like to a friend in France and other countries. Also, I'm thinking of using Wise to transfer money to my Interactive Brokers (IBKR) account. Since Wise is known for great service and rates, it seems like the best option. This means that you still can open a Wise account and send money, but you can't get account details to receive money from others. Due to regulations, this feature is only available for customers who reside in the regions listed here: wi.se/balanceavailability. Lastly, when it comes to transferring money to an Interactive Brokers transfers, this should be possible, and you can always track your outgoing transfer on your account. Hey there, Ashraf. To send money from Malaysia to the UK, you'll need to use SWIFT. Currently GBP can't be sent out of Malaysia with that route, but you can still send EUR, or USD, which can be received into a Wise account's GBP balance details. We have more info on that here: wi.se/sendgbpoutsideoftheuk Those kinds of payments generally take 1-6 business days to be received, but sometimes they can take longer because of time zone differences between the sending and receiving country, or the intermediary banks involved. Also, when I click send, there is no option for add outside bank account, only add recipient appears on this page. Is this the latest version of the app?

Ah, sorry about the confusion there, Ashraf 😅 A few corrections to the previous comment: You can pay with GBP in Malaysia, although it would still remain SWIFT with that method. Likewise, we can indeed accept payments in MYR from Malaysian bank accounts, and you can also use your MYR balance to pay for the transfer as an alternative, as well. So if you're setting up a MYR to GBP payment, the overall time would include about 0-2 working days for conversion, and 0-2 working days for delivery (Though most GBP payments arrive on the same working day). As for the issue of adding recipient details, if this is someone you haven't sent payments to yet, you should be able to add the bank account info by clicking the "Add a recipient" option. Once you select the currency their account is in, you should see an option to add the bank account info after. If that doesn't help, we'll need a bit more info to advise on this - Be sure to reach out to our other social media channels via DM (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram), so we can offer more dedicated help.

I have a general question please. If I want to use my Wise Visa Debit card to buy a large ticket item, is the merchant charged by Visa as if it was a credit card? Meaning, should I be shocked if the merchant would say to me that I would myself have to shoulder the cost of the transaction charged by Visa (it happens in certain places) or is there no such charge and I can then explain that even though the card appears to be a Visa card, being in fact a Visa Debit card, then the normal fee Visa charges the merchant does not apply? Hey, Cristian! So our Wise card would be a debit card (not credit), regardless of if it's a Visa or Mastercard, and should be charged as such. From our end, there are no fees for spending in the same currency as one of your available balances: wi.se/debitcardfees However, as it's a multi-currency card, some services (usually ATMs) might try to charge you extra by charging you in a different currency: wi.se/atm-rates so you'd pay extra for the conversion. In those cases, make sure to always reject any conversion attempts and ask to be charged in the matching currency instead. Outside of that, we can't necessarily control the fees a merchant might ask, but if you notice anything suspicious after purchase, you can always report it to us here: wi.se/howtoreportfraud

How many days does it usually take for a returned swift transfer you made on wise get refunded in to your balance account?

From the looks of it you've already connected your preferred bank account, and now you'd like to top up your USD balance in your account with us using ACH as the method of payment, is that correct? If so, then please note that you'd have to make a one-time debit from your account to our bank details. After this, you won't have to manually fill out all the info again, but you will still need to select the bank, and authorise the payments. You can’t send MYR by Swift - we explain more here: wi.se/guidetomyr Adding money means that you're adding money to your Wise balance: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances. While sending money means that you're setting up either a same or a cross currency transfer to a recipient: wi.se/howtosendmoney If you're trying to add money to your Wise balance, you can add money in one of these currencies: wi.se/balancecurrencies, then convert it to MYR instead: wi.se/moneyconversion Hope this helps. my Australia bank will not accept new Wise bank details to send transfer. When trying to transfer my Wise reference number is not sent . I am long time customer and never had any problems with transfers before. Now . ???

If your local bank in Australia isn't accepting our new AUD details with Wise, then this is usually a temporary issue, as banks in Australia need time to update their list of Bank State Branches (BSBs). We advise you to phone your bank/branch and update their list of BSB in their system. Hi Rover 👋 It depends on the bank. Each bank details have a specific SWIFT code. There are several websites to help you find a bank's Swift code. Simply choose the country and then the name of the bank: www.theswiftcodes.com www.bankswiftcode.org Alternatively, you can: 👉 Check the bank statements. Banks often put their Swiftcodes on their paper statements. If your respondents don’t receive paper statements, they can log in to their bank account and view their statements there. Then they can supply you with the Swift code. 👉 Check the bank’s own website. Go to the bank’s website and see if it has the Swift code listed. 👉 Check the bank’s FAQs, international payments or other related links. 👉 Type ‘Swift code’ into the search box if the website has a search feature. Hey there! There are some limits involved. For example, when sending EUR to GBP we would first need you to send us the EUR which has a maximum limit of 1.2 million per transfer. And then to send out, we have a 1 million GBP limit. So for the EUR to GBP you could potentially send 1.16million EUR. But if you send from your Wise balance, the limit is a bit higher. As mentioned above, if it's through Wise, she can't send using PHP currency as it's not yet supported. She can instead reach out to her bank, and ask if they support SWIFT transfers, or if there are other alternatives that they can offer.

Follow these steps below: -Go to the "Send" section of your account -Choose where you want to send the money from. In your case, this sounds like it would be from your external UK bank account. -Enter how much you'd like to send. For example, you can set up the transfer to pay in with 100 GBP from your UK bank account, and send the equivalent in EUR to your external Luxembourg account. -Choose who you're sending the money to. For you, you'd want to add your external Luxembourg bank account as the recipient for this transfer. -Review all the details and make sure the currency, amount, etc is correct. -Choose how to pay, this would be when you'd input your external UK bank account. Hey, Louis! You'll be able to have a BRL balance to hold money on Wise (if located in Brazil), but at the moment we don't offer account details for it. This means that if you're expecting payments from non-Wise senders, it would have to match the currency of one of the other available balance details: wi.se/howtoreceivemoney If the sender is a Wise users then they can easily set up a transfer where they pay in BRL, but it's delivered in a different currency to your balances 🙂 We even have a few different ways to do this where you won't even need to share account numbers: wi.se/receivemoneywithoutdetails

This change happened due to local regulations, because of this we're unable to offer balances and account details to customers in Indonesia. You can still use Wise to send money around the world. Also, if someone using Wise sends you money, you can set your external bank account as a primary account, this way the money will go straight to your external bank account.
