When building icons from shapes, the overlapping art may need to be trimmed at some point in your process. In this video, I show you an amazing trick in Adobe Illustrator, to trim your art while separating the strokes from the fills in just a few clicks. A major time-saver!
↗️ Extra Tip: What if you use brushes or width profiles on your strokes? Live Paint will convert these to a default 1 pt. uniform stroke when you make the live paint group (you'll see a warning first). You can apply the brush or width profile again after you have expanded. Work on a copy, so you can keep the original brush settings.
