I am disabled in a wheelchair.. I watched your video then decided to have ago myself.. I stripped the pump and float cleaned and degreased them vac every thing ..put it back together and hooray works perfect ... Thankyou brilliant video

Thanks for the vid - my issue was the float sitting in a pool of gooey god knows what - dryer is 5 yrs old so i expect just accumulated grime-anyway cleaned the reservoir and the housing - cleaned the float - reassembled and it worked! Its a Hotpoint Aquarius and dead easy to maintain (once youve seen these vids )

Ok think I've fixed it. Stripped pump out impeller all clear. Noticed front vents were full off fluff. Think this was causing overheating hence heater tripping and machine top case red hot. Cleaned and all working case isn't hot anymore so looks good :) thanks for the tips etc.

Dear sir, Have electrolux dryer. It heats, no problem for working . Have a little bit diferrent problem. Water tank is being filled near half, bu then the rest of water leaks to surface. If problem is pump, water tank should not be totally empty, right? Thus pls let me know if you ve faced such a problem before? If you may assist me what the problem is and which space part should i replace, will be so much appreciated.

My Hotpoint Aquarius THCL 73 water pump constantly runs, checked the float and continuity on the micro switch and they look ok. Trouble is the pumps keeps cutting out due to over heating I think. Any suggestions on what the problem could be at all?

I had the water box light on, the box was empty and not filling with water so I thought maybe the float was stuck and causing the machine to think there was a blockage in the pipe or maybe there was a blockage in the pump. Turns out the rubber impeller which spins and pushes water up the pipe had worn through and was no longer attached. Thankfully they sell these on amazon for £4 inc postage so all in all a cheap repair. I didn't unscrew the side of the machine to unclip the box at the back, one of the clips snapped as a result but it shouldn't be a problem

Indesit condensor, its not collecting water so bought new pump but still nothing. Do i have to buy a new float and micro switch? please need help as running out clean clothes.

Does anyone know how to test the pump to see if that part is faulty or not? Thanks

I had some problems with my dryer (leaking) and decided to clean the pump and everything, like you showed. But now I figured out that the pump appears to be running constantly. Isn't it supposed to only run when the switch is activated?

I have had a Hotpoint Engineer call out as the red light (empty tank) kept coming on. The engineer, who claimed to be a senior engineer said that it was normal for the red light to come on for a few seconds when starting to dry clothes. I asked the engineer to explain why the red light has never come on over the ten-year period that I have owned the tumble dryer and why it has only started to come on since the float unit was replaced a few weeks ago, he was unable to give me an explanation. I was not happy with his explanation and said that in my opinion the pump was not working correctly and had never been replaced, therefore, as the machine was insured by D & G I requested the pump to be changed. problem solved, no more red light. The manual for the machine does not state that it is normal for the red light to illuminate at the start of drying clothes as it states that the red light comes on when the tank requires to be emptied. Why would a senior engineer state that it was normal for the red light to illuminate at the start of a drying cycle?

Can you get a loud squealing noise from the pump as well even if it’s still collecting water

Quick question on the Beko Condensor is there a reason why water is accumulating in the heater area? Front filter and condesor plate are all clean. Keeps tripping the heating element off and when I take cover off there is water in there.

I have cleaned mine and its still.showing "Empty.Water " . Also , I've replace my heater element and its still not heating up. What is can be wrong ?.

I have a beko condenser and when on it runs ok from what I can see and hear apart from it leaks and no water goes into the bottle but after a cycle it tells me to empty tank how do I fix it and what could be the issue

just had daughter get intouch with one of these style machines (idc85), ''sparks and bright orange flashes came out of it'' so i went round, plugged it back in and turned it on, wasnt heating, expected being the heater, but it wasn't rotating both ways, opened it up, melted and snapped wiring from bottom two contacts of the timer (c5 b5, or is it c1 b1?) caused by short wiring pulling on the awful spade connectors till they became loose and wobbly and badly connected.. heated up, burned off the insulation, boom. photos.app.goo.gl/JtuErNJafNqsCXY46

My hotpoint Aquarius has been a bag of crap. 12 months old, hardly any use and it snaps the belt. Then I see the pulley has melted and replace that to find after 2 months the new pulley melted and spat the belt off! I went with a non genuine part with a bearing inserted in the pulley to prevent friction building up which melts the all plastic crappy Hotpoint pulley. Now the water pump has failed on it... Won’t be buying Hotpoint again.

Why does it even have a water pump? Why not just empty straight into the sink using gravity instead of pumping up to the reservoir/sink?
