This is better instructions than what came with the camera. I had to figure all this out on my own after finding the weird default IP address. If I didn't have some background with IT, I wouldn't have been able to set this thing up! I wish I had found this video a year ago!.

Would be useful to add a timeline in the description and to confirm what process is needed when camera is ultimately connected to the router or network switch at the start of video. Also is a crossover cable needed if camera is connected direct to computer.

If I want to remotely access the camera by opening up a port on my router, which port option (Port Web?) on the camera would I choose to change?

I did all this but now my laptop won't connect to internet via internet. Only works as wifi now. When I went back to automatically Obtain an IP, ethernet internet works but the camera IP no longer works. Seems like the camera would only work on wifi?
