I have smaller goals. Such as making it through a whole rolling session without breaks. I met that. Not tapping out as much to white and blue belts. Being more aggressive and attacking more, leads me to getting tapped more, but is fun. These goals are daily training goals. A long term goal is getting my black belt. Another goal is is the next promotion.

I’m no GJJ expert, but I know a little bit about learning. This is a very important video! It explains the discipline, hard hat and lunch pale side of improving. Everyone likes watching cool Jiu-Jitsu videos and sparring, but this type of attention to detail is a great supplement to the fun stuff. For example, I like to keep a binder in my truck with a summary of the GJJ curriculum that I follow that includes the order in which the techniques are learned by position, the indicator that tells you it’s appropriate to implement the technique, the common mistakes, and essential detail(s). I make house calls with my job, so I make several short drives throughout the day. I like to take a little drive time and, out loud (yes that’s right), describe the techniques in order as layed out in my binder. Funny thing is that the specific name of the technique is often the hardest thing to remember. Doing this really helps me simplify everything and tie it all together. It definitely makes things easier come training time.

Now being 16 I had taken karate for almost two years and got my green belt last in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu, luckily having a Robiero Jiu-Jitsu school here in South Bend Indiana I had been looking at for so long I tried it out just the other day and walked in being the only teenager in the adult class and man I was never so excited about continuing a martial art to see where the journey would lead me and I truly want to go back to learn more and hopefully eventually come visit you at your school someday after getting some experience under my belt. (pun intended) It is good to see that goals might help me start off on a really successful career. You have a new sub🙏

I hope KZfaq de-monetizes your video for teaching and encouraging people how to eat elephants. Don't you know that elephants are endangered, magnificent beasts? What kind of monster would encourage someone to eat the flesh of an animal like that? (Total sarcasm, had to crack the joke).
