Hello, I'm in my late 60's. My son usually sets up all my new electronic devices. Today my new macbook air arrived and he is overseas. So I decided to try to set up my macbook with the help of youtube. The first video started with custom settings. I was having trouble with plugging it in. Most other KZfaq tutorials are so quick, and always skip over the details and the basics, so I loved how you took your time to actually explain, and not stress through it as fast as possible like you had a gun to your head 😅 keep up the good work!

Someone is singular and themselves is plural. The correct way to say it is: ...someone who just got a Mac for himself/herself.

Funny that you fixed it. Native English speakers will often say such things on casual communication. In fact some parts of society would consider your use of "themselves" to be good because it's gender neutral and "himself or herself" is assuming a gender typical reader. Personally I don't care either way, your English is better than many and after taking a quick look at a couple of your other comments it's hard to say with certainty that it's not your first language.

Believe it! I manifested mine, it does work. It was not in my budget but I went through the process of putting it in my cart online exactly as I wanted it and then letting it go. I received mine as a birthday gift yesterday that I was not expecting. I was manifesting it about 3 weeks ago and I believed and let it go.

Hey Ik I’m late but I jsut wanted to tell u if u cant afford a MacBook from Amazon or straight from apple or any phone or iPad go to Swappa it’s a Place where I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max and my new laptop for like 600$ and it’s just like new all u have to make sure is that u make sure there’s not scratches and it comes straight (also uses pay pal so no scams)

You can also do cmd+shift+5 for a screen record without opening QuickTime and cmd+ctrl+esc to stop it.

A shortcut to screen record / screen shot is command shift 5. I don’t think it records audio from your device tho so maybe QuickTime is better in that aspect (I haven’t tried the QuickTime method)

Thank you for this! I just bought my first MacBook 2 weeks ago. I’m still getting used to certain things even simple things like copy and past on the track pad are different from a windows computer. The little handbook Apple sent after my purchase was pretty helpful too! An idea for another video maybe some cool customization ideas or tips on how to customize certain features for aesthetic purposes I also have a question: would I need to have virus protection software installed on my Mac ?

I don't use virus protection, just be careful to not download suspect things (as you would normally do on Windows anyway), and you will be fine :)
