On your poles that are holding the slack line are red plastic stops. What are they called?

Hello, I've been measuring up my garden and the best spot seems to be between two trees that are 12 meters apart. Is it a big disadvantage compared to your 5 m recommendation?

Hi Leo, it is not a big disadvantage, it will only be more challenging at the beginning to learn how to slackline. To solve this, you can place an object bellow the slackline to adjust to the desired lenght. (You can find an example in our App, under beginner tutorial. You will see that we are using a gymnastique wooden box, but something like a chair can also work, it will depend on what you have and the height of the slckline) I hope it help and that you will have fun learning how to slackline !

Yes, look for the slack rack. I just bought one myself 2 weeks ago and it is great fun. I feel very lucky to live right next to Stuttgart, Germany. The home town of Gibbon :-)

@@shLSS Thank you! :-) I just checked it out. It looks really nice and just what I need but I have some questions given that you just bought it. Is the three meters length enough? wouldn't you learn to walking it all through really quick? Maybe I don't have any idea but 3 meters just seems too short. What are your thoughts? It's $600 dollars here so it's not a cheap investment. Thank you again for your answer :-)

@@jasmintarot6601 Hi Jasmin, thank you for your question! As Harald said the slackrack is a great alternative to train at home. What you have to keep in mind is that it is a different way to balance, you won´t have the challenge of the line lenght like the usual slackline but you will face the challenge of the "adjustement speed". Due to the lenght and tightness of the line, all your movement need to be very controled and all you deep muscles will be highly activated. So we can assure you hours of fun trying static tricks (all the tricks that you can see from Rosa for example - On our instagram, and soon on the channel - can be train on a slackrack). Regarding the price of the slackrack, you can check it out on REI in canada or our US webshop (gibbon-usa.com/)

@@jasmintarot6601 Of course something longer would be more realistic as a training line for typical outdoor slacklining. But its the only easy way to set something up indoors unless you have some poles or columns in your house. and you can get a one meter extension for it, if you have the space.

Hello Benni! I have a question. I want to get my first slackline, I think I would like to have a jibline to learn bounces and tricks. I have seen 2 different Gibbon jiblines on amazon, one of them is "Gibbon JibLine X13" and the other one is "Gibbon Slacklines Jibline". What is the difference between them? Thanks in advance

Hi Lucia, the Jibline X13 is our last version. If you want to learn bounce and tricks, we would recommend you the Jibline XL or the Surfer line. ;)

Hi Andrea, there is no better or worse option. It all depends on the diameter of the pole or tree and you need to make sure that there is no abrasion risk and that you are allowed to rig on the pole/ trees. If you use trees, don´t forget to use tree protection ;)

first mistake: forget the back up

Hi there, there is no need of back up on a beginner slackline and for such distance. Back up are required for tricklines and lines with high tension (longline for example). To give you more details why, here are a few facts on the travel line (the set used in the video). The line itself has a breaking load of 20kN (so run about 2t) and the ratchet strap has a breaking load of 40kN (run about 4t). Also, to open the ratchet (which when closed has a breaking load of 25kN), 2 breaks have to be opened, the first one at the lever and the second one by pushing the lever all the way (06:40 in the video). @@olargueduoc6359 As mentioned above the part between the anchor and the ratchet has a breaking load of 40kN (so about 4 tonnes). The likelyhood that this part break on a beginner line is close to zero as the tension in the line will never reach that tension. To answer exactly your question, even if this part would break, the ratchet would not "fly away" as the tension wouldn´t be high enough is such case.

@@gibbonized thank you again for answering. If I'm slacklining with more tension than here (longlining for example), and if a back up is required, what stuff could I use to do the back up ? A rope or a webbing? wich model? What should I do with a primitive setup?

@@olargueduoc6359 You have a few options here, you can use a slackline webbing (the remaining line for example), slings, rope (but make sure that the rope is strong enough, climbing rope for example).
