To solve with the cracking and also allow for you to be able to get better color pay off when artezaa paints are dry you should mix a few drops of glycerin when you’re filling up the pans.

hahah ya, they did crack so so much but they didnt fall out and they were pretty good when reactivated, maybe they are just better inside the tubes and taking a fresh amount each time! Thank you so much for watching 🖤

Getting ox gall and adding a drop or two to your water jar for painting helps with flow with the Mijello paint. I started out painting not liking a lot of flow between colors, but now I find myself letting the paint do its own thing, so I’ve been adding ox gall to my water and it is AMAZING. They work just like my m graham paints now.

I’ve watched quite a few arteza reviews of this paint. And I believe even arteza themselves say not to pour their tube paint into pans. They just aren’t formulated to be used that way and don’t reactivate well.

Hey there, thank you for your comment and for being here!! Ya this is true, they do seem much better in the tubes, but once again i wanted to try it out and see what happens and learn a few things, and also when i have 60 paints sitting in a box i almost never grab them hahah! They still work ok in my palette so i will definitely be using them for sketches and practising, and i knew from the begining that they are lower quality from the other two brands i used but it was fun seeing all of them behave next to each other! kisses and have a beautiful day!

Also the Mijello don’t use ox gall in their binder so they’re not going to spread/bloom like other paints

Ουααα πόσο χαίρομαι όταν βλέπω ελληνικό σχόλιο 🖤 ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ για όλα, και που είσαι εδώ 🙃 τα mijello είναι πραγματικά τόσο όμορφα χρώματα, δεν είχα πολύ χρόνο να τα εξερευνήσω , έχω συνηθίσει με τα Kuretake που είναι γενικά κάπως τελείως διαφορετικά και σαν απόδοση και σαν συμπεριφορά, αλλά το επόμενο watercolor painting είναι σίγουρα με τα mijello 🙃 φιλάκια πολλά και καλό βράδυ!

@@kalliopilyviaki Και εγώ μια απ'τα ίδια, κι'αν φοβερά τα Gansai της Kuretake, αντιδρούν διαφορετικά καθώς θεωρούνται διαφορετικό είδος μπογιάς από τις ακουαρέλες!! Ουυ να και τα spoilers για το επόμενο βίντεο, περιμένω με ανυπομονησία την ειδοποίηση 👀 Καληνύχτα και καλή συνέχεια!!! 💕💕

One of my favorite types of videos! Love it. If I may make a suggestion, you'll make things a lot easier for yourself if you write the names in the stickers while they're still stuck on their papers. In my opinion, doing it like you did here eliminates the benefit of using stickers vs. writing directly on the pans with a permanent marker.

@@kalliopilyviaki So we're clearly on the same page here, but just in case you ever need to know, permanent marker can easily be cleaned off with rubbing alcohol :) that's what I do.

Hey there 🖤 one of my favorite watercolor set is the kuretake gansai (link in decription, materials i usually use), beautiful reach colors and different from the regular watercolors you usually see, and they are quite affordable,the only 'problem' is that the 36 set comes in a A4 flat box so its not that compact but i dont have a problem with it,and there is also a smaller set! Other sets that many student use are the half pan sets by winsor and Newton,that come in plastic small box,easy to carry around. For gouache i have only tried the Arteza tubes, so i dont have much to compare, but i really liked them and they are again super cheap,especially for learning! 🙃

What to do when you doesn't like a pan in the set? Removed the paint out and fill in new one?

haha ya , i dont mind having some lower quality paints to use when i practise but really soon after that video most of the lower quality ones cracked and fell out completely so now i do have space for new ones 🥕 thank you for watching

Arteza tube watercolors are dryish when you try to make customize pallette with it.

Yay I've learned it after making this palette! And they are also pretty hard to activate, but that's ok we can always just use fresh from the tubes that work just fine! Thank you for watching!

I love my mijello paints but I always have to add several drops of glycerin to help keep them from cracking unlike my nicer paints.

They haven't cracked on me yet and I generally have never tried glycerin haha but I do love them a lot too , they are beautiful rich colors, very different in behavior from my usual kuretake (also nice colors), can't wait to have more time to paint with them 🖤 kisses, have a beautiful day!

Please do mind that different tubes from the same brand have different characteristics as well. For the Mijello ones I can say that their blues have a variety of characteristics when it comes to opacity, transparency and staining ability. So for a better comparison among BRANDS, you should make sure that the tubes have the very same characteristics and not simply a similar color🥰

This is a lovely video. I don't understand why the Artisa is in the palette. Fourty four Mission Gold, plus the three Van Gogh would fill the palette leaving just one empty pan you could buy a new Van Gogh or MG later. That way you would have a full palette of professional quality paint. I would find a cheap palette to dump the Artisa in an fill those pans with the rest of the MG. Personally it would drive me nuts to leave half the set in the box.

Is there a reason why you don't mix the colors? For instance, suppose I bought 12 colors and mixed combinations into the palette to have consistent colors later on. Nobody seems to be doing this. I imagine perhaps reduction in saturation, but anything else?

I wanted to try this but it only works with 1-2 pigment colors if you do this with a color that used a lot of pigments it will get muddy. But thank you for saying this, I saw the Daniel Smith essentials set which is 6 colors and I want to use them to make my own colors

Arteza watercolors are pretty bad. They have so much filler they behave more like watered down gouache than watercolors

Hey there, ya i see what you mean , but i still believe for the price point they are really good for a beginner! Maybe a smaller set, with the main single pigments , since the 60 set has too many mixes and colors with too many pigments in them which makes them even more muddy! Kisses :)

I agree. I've even tried adding glycerin and gum arabic to help keep it moist and stick together--they rewet so much better but still crack. Their quality can never really be rescued😞. I use my Arteza tube watercolors as gouache and haven't turned back.
