Pls also make a video how to disassemble, cleaning the pump and assembling back the skimmer. It would be a great educational video.

You want a big enough chamber to have a good retention time, to allow good contact between the air and water to optimize the waste removal. Smaller reaction chambers will remove less waste as water will flow in and out too fast.

@@Redseafish Sure, but you don't need everything hanging out every where making it much large than needed. For starters incorporate the gate valve into the side of chamber so it sits within it's footprint, don't hang it 3" out the side for no reason. Why have the air control on the opposite side to the gate valve, simple things like this reduce the size a lot. Also please give us a size for smaller 60Gal tanks with sumps (like a DFC-80).

It's up to you. If you like a wet or dryer skimmate.

300 model.With the old AC pump, I had to put thevskimmer on a platform to lower the water level inside so the cup wouldn’t overflow. A saltwater aquarium video,Hillary said she had the same issue but took off the raisers with the DC. I’ did the same, but I still had the turn the water level control all the way down. Getting decent foam. Should I leave like this or should I try to open the water level control a little and hope the sensors turn down the pump power? It’s running at the default 70% for a sk300 now.

Open the water regulator all the way to allow max flow out, once you got a steady foam start closing it and then adjust the foam wetness level sensor. Keep it at the default intensity suitable for your skimmer.

What I really would like to know (and is not mentioned anywhere) is how many power supplies (and power plugs) are required when using the Duo Controller with the skimmer and return pump. There is no single photo or video that I have seen showing the full connection of these two components with the duo controller. For me, if they work off of a single power supply and plug it would be a major selling point.

I really love my RK 900. Everything except removing the collection cup. It is on so incredibly tight. That is a nightmare to remove. Even trying to use a neck cleaner is extremely difficult because it is so tight. I don’t understand why the tolerances have to be that small.

How do you achieve a water:air ratio of 3:1 on a RSK 600? do you increase or decrease the pump intensity?

Each skimmer has a different venturi, body size, the app knows to set up the pump's intensity as you define what skimmer you got to match it to your skimmer's specs.

To control the pump and the sensor in a DC skimmer you must have the dual controller.

It depends on the skimmer's model and indicated with a red label on the clear rod of the outlet flow regulator. You can find the optimal height per model here under Specs-->Specifications: redseafish.com/smart-hardware/dc-skimmer/

My cup full sensor is overly sensitive even after re-calibrating. If any skimmate touches the sensor it thinks its full and even after cleaning it still thinks its full. I have run my skimmer without making it pointless

Mine does the same thing. My old skimmer that is like 8 years old, draws more out of my tank than this automated skimmer. I thought maybe it would do better than me adjusting my manual one on occasion, but it doesn't even draw half as much out of the water. Kinda pointless if its not as effective. I try and make adjustments once a day to see how each setting is working. I've even seen it over flowing profusely after adjusting the nob too much, which I would have assumed the motor would have backed off but didn't and continued to over fill the cup. This item seems kinda like a marketing gimmick. @Redseafish

Hi, any tips to reduce the noise of this? I disassemble and tightened the screws again and its still very loud. Its driving my wife mad. Does it have to run 24 hours a day? Could i just use it at night and turn off during the day?
