How to set up and operate a shaker table for best density separation

This is a operational and instructional video showing how to use one of our 4'x8' shaker tables. We also have smaller 2'x4' shaker tables and larger 5'x12' shaker tables. We walk through steps on how the level the table, adjust the water bars, how the table should look when operated, and several features that separate our shaker tables from others on the market. Great description of a practical and reliable design. I have a few practical suggestions that you can add to your table to simplify the set-up that will not add notable cost. For setting the 0.25/12 slope can be set into the side of the table with a welded straight edge at the correct angle that you rest your builders lever. To weigh the table down you could have an option of an expanded metal basket at the bottom of the table that can be filled with rocks or bricks. It was not clear if you had 3 or 4 legs. While 4 would be more robust it would be great if there was just two levelling adjustments that do not interact or warp the table. This is your second video I watched and you have a well engineered product and I would love to have an excuse to make use of one.

Jason would you provide the stroke length? is it the same for yur smaller table. Since these are not adjustable I assume have experimented enough to get a good compromise for fine and course recovery of gold and other metals.

I’ve had one of your tables for a couple years now. It works great, but I’m having some issues with recovery on a particular ore. When I do pan tests on the ore, I can recover about 10 grams per ton, but I’m only getting about 3 grams per ton on the table. I’ve tried different mesh sizes and some table adjustments. Would you suggest more or less slope from the top (feed trough), to the bottom (tailings port)? I currently have 1/4”/ft. Also do you think that the vibration from my Stuttenroth mill could be messing with the table recovery? They’re not touching each other, but they are both bolted to the same concrete.

What variables/dimensions of control are available for adjusting to different materials? Say I'm separating gold and copper and it's set up so that gold goes into #1 and copper into #2. Later I want to separate copper and aluminum. How does one go about changing the behavior of the machine so that copper now goes into #1 instead of #2 and the aluminum goes into #2? Also same question but with even lighter and lighter materials. As far as getting lighter and lighter, what are the limits in this regard if any? Also, I couldn't find a video on this, maybe I just missed it, if I didn't I think the topic would make a very interesting video.

Thanks for the comment. The table isn't quite that sensitive. The materials form bands on the table based on their density. Only material with a density of about 5 g/cc can climb the ramp. If all you have is copper then it will go into the #1. If copper and gold the gold and some copper will go into the #1 and #2 will be mostly copper. The table works great for separating small amounts of very dense material from lighter waste, but its not good at separating small amounts of material with slightly different densities. If you check out some of our videos processing electronics you can see the various bands of metals going into #1 and #2. We have copper, gold, lead, tin, etc all going into the #1/2 but the table is doing a good job separating the heavy metals from the plastic and fiberglass. Not sure if that all makes sense. Think of the table as a concentrator and not a perfect cleaner/separator

Good eye! Actually this is one of our mirrored tables. We sell them in mirrored sets for people who want to put them back to back for a smaller foot print. Didn't think anyone would catch it, doesn't effect performance though

you can increase the speed of the table by increasing the size of the motor pulley or reducing the drive pulley diameter ... just like a multi speed bicycle ...
