This helps you hook up the cables properly and quickly.
Link to the cables I used, you just need 2 of each:

Ahhhh this helps me a lot. So if you dont have a sub the monitors connect straight into the interface. If you have a sub then the sub goes into the interface, and then the monitors connect into the sub. Sweet👍👍

You don't need an audio interface at all. What you will need is an audio channel splitter cable from your computer's audio out port on your computer that's for either XLR or 1/4" cable that will go to the Left and Right Inputs on the back of the subwoofer, then you just run two more of either XLR or 1/4" cables from the Outputs on your subwoofer to the Left and Right Inputs on your speakers. No interface necessary. Interfaces, like a Focusrite Scarlett series interface, are mainly used for recording with a USB microphone, although you can use a dynamic mic that uses an XLR cable with it, as well. People like to record things like podcasts using only an interface and mics with just their laptop cuz their portable.

Hello, I'm not using a computer at all, just a mixer. So do I still need to get an audio interface to connect my studio monitors to the sub? Thanks

No, even if you produce or casually listen I highly recommend a powered interface with its own power source

Thank you Very Very Much for sharing.Why didn't KRK Systems put out anything to help with this?! I love the speakers but it took this nice lady to share, so no one else would go through the nightmare of figuring this out.

Thanks "Skywatcher TN": Thanks for your video on this topic. Works ok, what a sound with KRK Rokit RP7 G4 in combination with KRK subwoofer S8.4 (with a Fender Mustang/Rumble1-Btn Footscwitch). Awesome! Working with 2 Cordial cables CTM 3 FM-BK XLR male and 2 XLR male Cordial cables XLR male to Jack TRS!! I hooked them up to a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 3rd generation audio interface (good stuff). Good thing that you made this video with explanation!

I believe you can also use the smaller holes above the ones you are using in the sub since it’s balance input/output, currently my two krk are connected to a focusright interface

You have the sub connected with the speakers to the focusrite? Want to make sure it works with my scarlet solo before i buy the sub
@theflow27
@theflow27 3 жыл бұрын
@@albertortiz1549 I believe the scarlet solo only takes unbalanced cables. I think you will need the scarlet 2i2 wich has the output for balanced cables. And then you can do those connections he is showing here, but instead using the small wholes above the XLR.

Why did you use a 6.5mm to XLR connection on the back of the monitors and not XLR to XLR. Does it need to connect via 6.5mm? or can both ends be XLR Also what model are these monitors? I want to duplicate the setup to replace my speakers and sub.

your audio interface has xlr outs so you could use 4 male to female xlr leads in total.

OK so basically out of the sound card you go to the sub which acts as a bridge to the other 2 monitors ? Am I right because I have a Delta 44 and it only has 2 outs so there's no spot for a 3rd speaker i.e. The sub.

yes there are 6,35mm mono jack ports right next to the xlr ports ALSO, the xlr ports in monitors also work as 6,35mm mono jack ports. (atleast in the latest gen 4) So you can just stick your 6,35mm jack in the middle of the xlr port in that case.
