Life Saver this was!! We had NOT added the Payment Plan to the Subscriptions despite having Credit Cards on file and they were going past due!! But there should be a Notice To Pay options on past due payments which is MISSING from the User Interface!

That is correct! Your customer will be automatically charged with the card on file.

No, they dont. You need to get the customer to give you another CC. I am dealing with this issue now because the customer's CC didnt work due to no funds. Stripe doesnt tell you this.

Thanks Stuart. If I don't have the client Credit card details on file, after setting up a subscription (with 12 x monthly payments), I would need to send an invoice manually. When I send the client the invoice and they make payment, will that then automatically charge their credit card every month? Or will they need to manually pay the invoice again every month? Welcome James. That is correct. There details will be on file for automatic payments. If you send them the payment page with the subscription.

What I don't understand it why can't we create a product with a payment link for 12 cycles WITHOUT linking it to a customer? Then we can advertise it and when someone signs up it automatically does 12 cycles. I don't have a customer yet but I want to have 12 cycles only added to a product - otherwise, I have to manually update everything with every single customer. What if you have 30 customers signing up to your 12 month product? How do you navigate this?

Thanks, however I cannot find any video online that answers to my actual question: how to set up a recurring subscription that my customer can NOT cancel by himself. I am planning on adding a buy-button to my sales page - however the commitment must be to the full period (10 months). Is that not an option at stripe? Or do I have to update every customer manually after they purchased the subscription? Thanks for any help

Hey! You cannot do this. They will always have the option to opt out.

Hi Stewart, when a new customer manually pays for a 12-month subscription plan using the invoice link, does STRIPE then automatically save his credit card info placing it on file so that for the remaining 11 months his card is automatically billed? Or do I still need to take the card info over the phone in order to place it on file for recurring payments? Thank you

The product description shows a creation date of August 18. Is that permanent? Or when I create a link when I have a buyer, or change the price, will the creation date will update? @@StewartGauld thank you it told me that i should not try to change the default price with a selection in creating a new price so could not find the option to "set as default price" so I archived the old price anyway and it archived it as the default price. I created the new price but it did not say default price and it did not set it to default by default so I don't know what is going on. I unarchived the old price and rearchived it and it unset this price as default. I created the new price. After rearchiving the old price a second time, it took off the default. The new price is not set as default and their is no setting called "set as default" when creating the price. Did they move this setting somewhere else? What is going on?

Great vid. Is it possible to create a payment link for a subscription versus needing the customers email to send them an invoice. It would be so incredible if you could for example; have a digital course that has a payment plan option that they can click on and make payment and automatically get charged monthly for without needing to manually get their email and send them the invoice etc.

Hi Stewart, what if the client wants to pause the subscription, can they do it themselves and it will automatically update in our dashboard? For example, I provide a monthly service whose invoice is issued every 30 days. If suddenly they only want to use the service for 10 days, they can pause it, then there are 20 days remaining which can be claimed at any time and is valid for up to 1 year. After 1 year it will expire.

I am planning to set up a subscription-based service and in my offer, I intend to "grandfather" the pricing for early subscribers on the lower pricing as long as they stay subscribed. The pricing for the service I am offering will increase at some point and I would like to seek your advice on the optimal way to set this up in Stripe. Are you able to guide me on this, please? @@StewartGauld Hi Stewart, yes, I would like to increase the pricing say in 6 months to a year's time. Once that happens, new subscribers will be charged the new pricing but I would like the existing subscribers to continue be charged at the old pricing as long as they stay subscribed.

@@Stratijev Hi Darko, just passing on the info. I have consulted Stripe support. Basically, we just need to create a new product with the same details but with increased pricing. Then we create the payment link and update it on our website. The old product is still active collecting the subscription from the existing subscribers who sign up for it. Hope this helps!

How can I have an evergreen link for anyone? The first link you create is not possible to do it with only 3 monthly payments to begin in whichever date the client selects if he click thru the bottom? Do I always have to do it manually in order to cancel the payments? great video! thanks!

I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the date of the recurring payment to the client. For example, let's say I charge the client on the first of the month when they first become a client. But for the next month, I want the recurring payment to be charged on the 15th instead of the first of the month. Is there a way to do that?

I have the same question, there's no option to just put the billing cycle at the start of creating the product. So clients will be billed every month, non-stop. Unless you manually do the schedule subscription.

I've watched a tonne of these videos and noone is covering how to put a monthly payment plan for 6 months on a checkout page for the customer to choose and stripe to automatically enter them into it, is that not possible? Only options I find to enter an end date on a subscription is when you manually add a customer to it in the back end.....

Hello, An example form any where subscribe for a product by stripe (Recurring) 100$, before subscribe card balance was 110$ , remaining 10 dollar, i dont recharge card for the next month Q1. What will be stripe behave after expire 100$ expiry for one month? I sell digital products and I am wanting to do a monthly membership store, when a customer purchases it, they get access to download any product in the store at no additional charge for each month that they are a member, including any products that are continuously added. (But optionally, I also want to have the same digital items where they can be purchased at a set price for those who do not wish to do the monthly membership.) Does anyone have any experience doing this sort of thing?

How can I rerate Stripe customer id and my customer id? Payment link is convenience but customer data created after completed payment So I'm not sure about each customer payment detail for my service customer information Can I get something about confirmable the information with url parameter when got redirect url?
