How to set up the Vantrue N2 Pro dual dash cam in car review

How to set up the Venture N2 Pro dash cam. I look at what features the Venture N2 pro dash cam has, such as a built in front and rear camera to record outside the car(the road ahead) and what is in the cockpit of the car(ideal for taxi drivers and anyone that wants to feel more safe whilst driving alone).
I show you where too and how to insert the micro sd card in the Venture N2 pro dash cam.
I also set up the Venture N2 pro dash cam on the front windscreen and put the power cable around the windscreen and under the glove compartment.
I show footage of the Vantrue N2 pro dash cam in the daytime at 1080p and 1440p front camera. Cockpit camera in 1080p, nighttime at 1080p and infrared in the cockpit.

If you are fitting the dash cam power cable round the side of the windscreen and side pillar, check to see if you have an airbag in the pillar, if you have an airbag, then try to avoid blocking the side curtain airbag. If unsure contact a professional installer for advise or to install.

I've just binned a cheap and nasty duel cam. It had 2 seperate cams, one of the front screen an one on the rear plus the usual what seems like miles of cabling! the picture quality as so bad, I doubt it could be used as evidence. I brought the vantrue mainly on your review, the only disappointed I have is the rear cam is stuck on my front passenger with no view out of the back window at all. Is this simply a positioning problem?

That depends on the car, some cars the power for the lighter still works Even dou the car is off, many don’t so for those that don’t, u need to hardwire it, or simply have a nice power bank to connect your camera to..

I recommend the hardwire kit. The kit will shut power to save enough juice to start your car. Safest way not to drain your battery.

I'm confused when you say charge it for 3 hours prior to use... mine is hardwired to my car and should charge all day but however, as soon as I disconnect it from the suction mount for video review, it shuts down immediately! What am I doing wrong??

Charging it prior will keep your settings, so when it is turned off you don’t lose when you set up, such as time and date. You can check the recording whilst the engine is turned on. Or you can connect it up with your computer and review it then. Hope that helps

you have it hard wired to your car this means for parking mode only if someone bumps you only , it will not run when your car is off , as far as it shuts down immediately! What am I doing wrong?? this is normal mine does the samething plug it into your pc it will get power ....for the battery that will run for 10 mins .......plug it into your pc to change the cam

@@rigomortisfxstudios actually, you are wrong. The cam DOES run when the car is off, because I have it hardwired to my car and it is in parking mode. As for charging it via the computer, I will try that, but I'm pretty sure that will not make the battery run for at least 10 mins, as I have left it in the computer for long periods of time before.

These things are nothing but a pain. I'm on my second one in less than 6 months and it crashed too. Customer service won't respond anymore. In fairness, they did replace the first one but it lasted 3 weeks before crashing.

This is unusual my inside rear camera lost it's color. I never dropped it, the video now only shows in black and white. My front side view is fine.

I prefer to use SanDisk as they tend to be more reliable. This is the one I used off Amazon amzn.to/2M6LFmn But you can use the lager sizes if you need to.

The process is easy: download the firmware file A95LYD.bin (latest as of today) from link above, and copy the file to the top folder (root directory) of the SD card. Put the card back in the dashcam and turn it on, it should see the file and update on its own (screen stays blank longer than usual). Once the update is done, go into the menus, then into SYSTEM SETUP, then into SYSTEM INFO, and verify it shows as version VTN2Pro8C.V10 like below. Finally, delete the firmware file from the card so the dashcam won't keep detecting it (or format the card if you don't need its contents).

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this comment! I successfully updated the firmware on my new N2Pro with absolutely no problems whatsoever based on this. The only slight variations are that I left the miniSD card in the N2Pro and connected the unit to the computer as a Mass Storage device via USB; and then copied the A95LYD.bin file directly to the root directory of the miniSD that way. (Physically dealing with miniSD cards and adapters is kind of fussy for me, so any time I can leave the card in the unit I do.) Also, since you wrote your comment is appears as if the N2Pro may automatically delete the firmware update file from the miniSD's root directory as a final stage of the update process, so it may not be necessary any more to delete that file manually. Again, thank you!

What happens is it will continue to record until the micro sd card is full. At that point it will overwrite the oldest recording. A 32 gb sd card should give you about 6 hours of recording before it starts to overwrite. If you want to save a point you might be able to lock 🔒 that point, so it doesn’t overwrite it. You can always have a spare sd card and switch it.

Unrelated question but thought I should ask on your most recent upload. I struggle with pulling off quickly when I need to (roundabouts ect). If the are moving off slowly then the biting point needs to be higher. Try practicing it on a quiet straight road.

I would recommend getting the hardwire kit, running constant cig lighter will kill battery. The hardwire kit will shut off when the battery reaches a certain percentage so you still have enough juice to start your car.

The car has had dual control fitted. It has an extra clutch and brake. Most cars can get them fitted. It’s a Honda jazz.

You can plug it in and it will record once the micro s d card is in. You could go into the settings and set the date and time. If you want to do more on the settings again and look at how long you want to record the files and change it to English or another. I used 32gb and it recorded 7 hours then started to record over.

The dash cam would need hard wire to your battery, which is easy to do. Then it will record when you are not in the car if someone hits your car.

The mount is a standard one. You would need to buy the one with the WiFi on to pick up the speed

A 32 gb micro s d card up to 6 to 7 hours before it starts to re-record over.

@@JamesTravis Will this one take a 128 GB or higher card? Also, what were your thoughts about the night vision? I do weather photography and need a good night camera to capture lightning, etc. Lastly, can you clip this camera to your passenger visor? Thank you so much for your time!!

Hi, not sure if dash cam takes 128 or higher. The night vision was ok. Sorry I could not help anymore.

The GPS mount gives speed and location. Works perfect! I entered coords in google maps, and its spot on. Had to use it for my recent accident when I was rear ended.
