Great video. just a setup 2 Vantrue N2 pro's using this video. What was important to me was basically how to toggle the setup as well as the GPS info which I don't have, I did reset the mgz to 60 since i read this is what they use in the US. Everything else I followed what you have set up. this was a very useful video for setup and not some sales pitch on how great the product is. I know that already it was after purchase I needed help.. very good slow explanatory procedures on why you used the settings too. Thank you.

You're welcome. It's not that hard once you've done it a couple of times. I do it all the time...just be careful though as the card sometimes pops out with force and you can lose it

There is an attachment, where your camera uses your OMB-2 connection under your dash. There's no other connections to the OMB except for the power connection to your battery and it doesn't mess with the OMB port or your computer at all. It's just power. I bought mine off Ama**n and haven't had a problem with it or my vehicle at all. My dash cam is the Vantrue N2 Pro, but the power cable will work if you have an older Vantrue unit and you want to power your camera 24/7. Don't leave your driveway without it.

Frequency default on mine is 60Hz. That makes sense - the US TV system is 60Hz, in the EU I believe it is 50Hz. I suppose it won't make a difference if you never intend to view the video on a TV screen - but if you ever need to edit it on a PC it might make a diff.(??)

Thank you for the info. Although this camera is old (2024 is when I bought it), I just needed one for UBER and I got it for $110 from Vantrue. IT seems to do the job from the reviews I have watched. I'm hopin gto just keep the camera in the car and never have to replace the SD card (as it should loop). I would only need to look at the SD card on y computer if there was a issue, right?

Okay I have had mine for a month and still have questions. 1. I have it on 5 minute loop recording, when I press the okay button, it often doesn’t save the video and stops recording. Even when there are no files on the card (64GB) 2. How do I get it to save videos in case of an accident? Just press the okay button? Or the !/P Button? 3. My card only allows for like 30 minutes to be in storage at a time. I want to save 5 minute video clips but when I press the button it only shows like 1 1/2 minutes then the video ends. How the hell do you work the recording on this thing?

If you're in the US and Canada, switch the Hz to 60.

@@itsSamRizvi Our electrical system is different from the UK and most of Europe. It's the whole reason why we used NTSC vs PAL. You might get a better performance if you switch to 60hz when plugged in.

UNIDEN 1080P I think it's better has a dual camera top and bottom. The bottom camera rotate. You can but it at Wal-Mart for $60. Easy to operate.

The best, easiest, and fastest way to view videos on your laptop is by taking the SD card out and putting it in an SD card reader which then plugs into your laptop.

Question: Is there any way to change which camera shows full screen? Default mode shows the main camera looking at the road in full screen, but the one looking at the inside of the vehicle is so small cropped on the top left corner. I’d like to switch this so the inside of the car camera shows full screen and the road is minimized in the top left corner. Is this possible??

You can open up the SD card on your computer and you will see a folder where the protected files are saved. Simply delete the files in that folder.

It records everything from the time you turn on the ignition to when you turn it off. When your SD card gets full, it will record over your oldest video onwards

When I made this video, the only option was to save to the SD card. I don't know if Vantrue has an app now or if the camera can now connect to the internet and save them on the cloud.

What if you get pulled over by the police and you want to record the interaction. But they ask you to take your keys off the ignition?

You will then have to have maybe a powerbank that you can quickly connect the camera to, so it can start recording. Remember, it just needs a USB charger or powerbank to power the camera.

Thank you for this helpful video. Question: I need to format the camera so that it records and saves the files chronologically. I need to be able to review the clips in the same order that they happened IRL. So far, I've tried the various instructions people have recommended, like clicking on the file name to rearrange to that, but have been unsuccessful. Can you tell me what I need to do so that I can review the clips in the order they were recorded IRL? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

That is just the way it works. So it turns on and off when you turn your car on and off. However, if you hard wire it to your car battery, you can it's advanced features such as motion detection and shock detection.

i just bought one and the infrared night vision lights never come on. the cabin video is black and white but these lights never come on like yours does

They are not supposed to come on and you're not supposed to see them. They are infrared lights...not regular white lights. It's only showing on camera that they are red.

Not sure what is happening there man...maybe check the settings to see how long you've set each recording to be.

When it's new you still have some battery power with power supply, but as time goes on, the battery power reduces to the point where you need to have it plugged in all the time

You're welcome. Yes if you connect the USB cable that came with it to the side of the camera and the other end into a computer or phone/tablet, you will get an option on the camera LCD to select Mass Storage Device. The SD card will show up as a Mass Storage device and you can access all the videos.

You take a passenger... camera is recording... passenger jacks your car and takes off in it... he takes the camera... all he has to do is destroy the SD card inside.. and it's gone... evidence has been deleted! am I correct? or does it save videos on ICloud or any app?

You use the jump wire to attach it to your laptop. Mine opens in the F: drive

The infrared lights are not supposed to turn on bright red. The human eye can't really see it. Since I'm recording the camera from my phone, the phone camera is picking up the infrared light to some extent and shows you the red light.
