How to setup a LAY-Z-SPA.
Bestway LAY-Z-SPA Installation Easy Step by Step Tutorial.
A nice simple guide to the LAY-Z-SPA Setup. Setting up your LAY-Z-SPA hot tub is fairly easy but the instructions aren't great so follow this guide.
This is how to setup a LAY-Z-SPA Bahamas edition but should be the same for other Bestway models as well.
Make sure it is on a sturdy surface like a patio or your garden, not advisable on Decking as full it can way over a Ton, and with people in even more!
This Tutorial is 18 minutes long but it is a comprehensive guide.
If you don't want to pack it away just yet then watch the TOP TIPS section to help keep your LAY-Z-SPA Water clean and fresh.
The Mains cable is about 7 metres from the back of the Unit to the plug.

Lifesaver! 🎉 Note that my model of the spa (Miami) needed attachments from a bag to be screwed into the air inflation input hole, before the air hose could be attached.

@@LurgsHowToGuides Could you post a link to the tablets you use? Mine came with a powder that is pretty useless in the chem connect floater, it doesn’t hold the required amount as listed on the bottle 🙄

I do have the chem connect, I just couldn’t get it attached so it was floating free lol. I’ll try it again when I’m in it next - I had a hard time with the filter not attaching during setup and was mindful of your warning “plastic threads! Don’t force it!” Lol so I didn’t. When I was in it though, with the water, it spun right on, so maybe the chem connect will be the same. Thank you for the advice and the link to the chlorine tabs!

Yeh it’s fairly simple to set up. Put it on a foam base or similar as this helps with insulation and also any punctures from grit or splinters. Enjoy

Hi there! First of all thanks for your video. We are considering buying this spa, but what could you tell us about the noise level of the pomp when it's heating the water? Our previous spa, which had in built-in pump, made quite some humming noise. Would you say this external pump is quiet? thanks!

You can definitely hear the hum yes. But once back door is shut you cannot hear it. We don't tend to have ours on overnight, just put cover on it then turn it back on the next day. Of course if you have cheaper electricity overnight it may be best to do the heating then.

High 30’s wow that is hot. The base does not inflate so nothing to do. I recommend you place it on a rubber or foam matting though to make it more comfortable and to prevent any punctures

@@JonathanAdami The Spa will degrade over time in the sunshine. We bought one of these and it’s great, helps protect from hot sun and rain but also helps keep the water warmer overnight. You’d need to consult an electrician regarding the correct plug in device to use if the cord won’t reach. You could use it without the heating but it would be very chilly if you live in England, but If you live in a hot country it would be ok

Great video:) Just got the Bali spa. What will happen with the temperature after finished bathing and turning it heater off? Will it sink down to the outside temperate of the air or will it remain warm? Let's say you use it one day, turns it off and then use it again after 5 days. I guess the the power allways be should on and the water filter button should be on all time.

We leave it on all day long (it’s only 50w) to help keep water clean. We turn it off at night as it hums and if it ever gets an E02 error it starts beeping

Excellent instructions. Thank you for explaining it so well. Just one question I got confused with 3 buttons. LayZ massgae activation, heat activation and water filter activation. When using chemconnect, do i need to keep any button on so chlorine can dissolve into water? Do i have to keep filter activation on all time except night to avoid noise? Thank you again

When you get in the Hot Tub make sure you remove the ChemConnect. When not in the Hot Tub if you have Heating on then the water filtration is automatically on. You can turn off the heating and just have the water filtration on. We tend to have heating \ filtration on during the day and turn them both off at night as it does make a humming noise. Hi Lurgs great easy vid to watch thank you . I have a question plz , My new hot tub is just heating up for the 1st time it will prob reach 35 degrees at 2am . So i wont be getting in it until tomorrow so what do i do plz . Do i switch it off by mains .

No just leave it, as soon as it reaches 35c it won’t heat it anymore and will just have the water filtration running. I tend to switch ours off overnight and heat in the day, just got a thermal cover which is amazing. Vid on my channel, definitely worth having if it’s gets chilly at night.

@@awakeandaware1528 I never switch it off at the mains. Just turn off heating at night on keypad and leave filtration motor running (or you can turn that off). Next day depending on weather it will drop about 5-8c so doesn’t take long to heat back up. You can buy shock testing kits which get it all ready but I don't bother, I just put ChemConnect on Max with a Chlorine tablet and that works fine.

Thanks Lurgs, fantastic video - really informative (and entertaining!). One question - I've seen others say you need to shock the hot hub on first use and test ph levels etc, but you don't do that - just using the multi-functional tablets. Just wondered why the differing approaches? Cheers

Thanks for the comment. 2 weeks ago I emptied ours and refilled it. I’ve never shock treated it. I just put one chlorine tablet in and open it to Max and leave filtration system on. Not had a problem yet and water stays clear. I also use Stain and scale controller which really helps. Hey! What if I don’t have a Chem connect? Can I still use the lay z spa with a floating disepenser and do I keep the black plug on where the chem connect was supposed to be or take the black cap off and expose the grey? Thank you

Why no ChemConnect? Yes you can use a floating type. No take cap off as that’s where the hot water pumps out!

Love the video! Thank you! I was wondering about the very bottom of the spa (inside, where you sit). It looks like it needs to be filled with air??? Did I not inflate the spa itself, enough? Is there a separate intake? Am I an idiot by making this more difficult than it actually is? Also mine didnt come with the ChemConnect....so thank you for explaining what that nozzle was even for. Bottom part isn’t inflatable so I highly recommend putting Spa on a rubber mat as it makes it so much more comfortable. Glad my video helped and enjoy your LAY Z SPA. Assume you aren’t setting it up in England?

My tips are use new filters every week (you can clean them as well as per my video) but new ones really clear the water better. Always keep chlorine tablet well stocked and and the water filter on even if not heated. And make sure before anyone uses it that they have a quick shower to get rid of deodorant and Suncream and perfumes etc... We do this now and it stays much cleaner. I tend to overfill it so it spills over and then top it up with fresh tap water, that keeps it fresh as well. And we got got a small net to scoop up debris and flies when lid is off

Hey mate. Great video. I ordered mine a week ago and waiting for it to arrive. Can you elaborate a little on your advice not to use an extension cable? I’ve not ever heard of that before. Are you suggesting that even a short extension cord could be dangerous?

Yes do not use an extension cable as it will get extremely hot and is liable to melt! Ideally the unit should be plugged in directly, ideally to a certified outside socket installed by an electrician

@@TheCinderellabella09 Yes it's ok plugged into a mains socket that is inside. The cable is quite long so as long as you put Spa quite close to the socket area it should be ok.
