Video was helpful thanks a lot! After having an issue with a Linksys live chat person they wanted to charge me $29.99 for turbo-shooting the router so it can properly communicate with the modem and after denying the offer the person from the live chat changed the name of the router and disabled the password. Thank you once again!

Edna, try to reset ur router and then there will be no username and PW is admin..it worked for me.

I have an older wrt54g Linksys router I haven't used in a while, pretty sure I last had WEP set up, but it's not an option on Win8, so I'm really stuck. Any chance you can walk me thru how to get it secure again if I don't have the security key? As long as you're able to go to the Linksys/cisco site to do these vid changes from a different router, I can follow them then switch back to the wrt54g?

For me, the default login was "blank" for username and "admin" for password. Hope this helps.

In my wireless security mode I don't have the option for WPA personal.. I only have WPA pre-shared/ WPA radius/wpa2 pre-shared/WPA radius only/ wpa2 radius mix/ radius / wep.. I don't know which one to pick since you said wep you don't recommend. Please help thanks

I get the option to pick 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz. Can i freely switch between the two? And which one is better ( im guessing 5 ghz)

Okay so on the part where I change my security mode to wpa2 personal... It doesn't give me the option to put in a password or pass phrase. It asks me which wpa algorithms I want. And it's blank for wpa shared key. Would that be the password?

This was help but I wish you would have gone through hw to set priority's. But I've been looking for about an hour and a half now with this being the only result because I kept on getting stuck on the password so I won't complain

If anyone could help me, when I go to wireless security and change it from Disabled to WPA2 personal, passphrase or password doesn't show up. I see "WPA Algorithms" and its set to "TKIP". I also see "WPA Shared Key" which is left blank. The last thing I see is "Group Key Renewal" which is set to 3600 seconds.

Anyone who's having problems switching the security mode from "disable" use Internet Explorer. In my case it was Google Chrome who wasn't letting me change it. Hope it helps

do I need to connect my Ethernet cord to my pc before I change my wifi password ..and another thing is that when I type in my user name and password doesn't work and the admin doesn't work either so I'm stuck please help me
