How to Setup and Source Your Data Overlays on HDS LIVE | Lowrance

When you are on the water, you don’t have time to search for important data like water depth or water temperature. With Overlay Data, that won’t be an issue. Just set up onscreen data overlays and then link the overlay to the desired data source (if necessary) - like a temp sensor, transducer, etc.

Awesome!! I put my Hook2 7 to use on the hardtop this winter. Got a tourney this weekend and chasing big cats thru the ice in the weeks to come!! Love the versatility of Lowrance!!

Very helpful videos. I have a question perhaps you have done it but...... I have installed a fuel transducer on my lowrance live and have been able to setup tank information but can not setup economy. I have found the units and set them to km/l but can not find economy anywhere to add as an overlay. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you guys at Lowrance do another video for kayak setup? I just picked up HDS Live 7 for my 2019 Hobie and I’m sure the rest of the kayak community would appreciate a walk through regarding these new units, just saying. 😬

Under the sonar tab in data sources I’m only getting depth not temperature. Still not getting a temperature reading

How do you set the TimeZone? I thought it would just “eventually” get it right. Been just about a year now and I’ve taken this thing through a dozen tz’s...where the time on my unit was always a source of laughter and ridicule.

I don't suppose Ican pre-configure the unit from the bench top withOUT the other equipment plugged in, even though i know which units will have which transducers and temperature sensors?

Hi, You would not be able to preconfigure the system. When installed you perform an Auto Cofigure and it polls the networks to discover what is powered up and connected.

Mine keeps popping up a warning on shallow water , little red bell icon in the lower left corner on my HDS live 9” what is this

Hi The bell Icon is alerting you to the fact that an alarm has been triggered. You can turn alarms on or off by going to your home page (Top left button) on the left hand side f the home page is a list of additional pages. Select Alarms. slect settings and you can either turn off the alarms or change the settings of the alarms.

I'm getting no depth reading anymore. I did a soft reset on my Hook2 (Tripleshot) by powering off the unit --> then holding the "-" and "+" together --> then powering on the unit again. It still didn't show no depth reading.

Hi The most common cause of this is a transducer plug that is not completely seated. The plug needs to be seated so you do not see the sealing rings at all. The link below has some photos. Can I run two 3in 1 transducers at back of my boat?

Hi Running two identical transducers can be problematic. There would be no way for the transducer to determine which transducer created the ping. The result would be false readings and or interference.

How do I make the text size bigger. Depth is small and the depth markers on fish are microscopic too…

You cannot change the size of FishID and Depths.

Yes, you can set up your overlays out of the water. Just remember to Stop the sonar. You may do so either from the sonar page or from the system controls. It depends on the unit you have.
