I’m having an issue connecting my Impact 4000 to the Geoballistics app. When I click the bluetooth icon in the app, it shows the I4000 and remote, but when I click the + button, nothing is populated. I also don’t get the automatic connection prompt. Interestingly enough, on the weather side of the app, when I click the location arrow, I don’t get any available weather stations. I’ve tried with the app installed on my iPad and had the same issues. Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

⁠Yes. I have a Garmin smartwatch that was also connected. Had to disconnect all bluetooth devices that were connected to my phone before I could set up and connect to the Impact. Hope this helps. Vortex tech support was very helpful and helped resolve my problem

Looks like a good unit However the basic function is missing and it wouldn't take much to incorporate the level indication. Hopefully in the new version.

Honest question, how fragile is this thing? Can I set it and forget it and don’t need worry about it breaking if I trip or fall or will I better off taking it off when not using it?

You didn’t mention that when you range a target you must hold below your target ? Ie if your scope / impact offset is 3 inches or so to hold 0.8 mills etc below the target ? Is this correct? As that’s what other channels are saying - however you said to hold on target ?

Nah, you just have to be on zero.

It’s a parallel path between the scope and laser. So you won’t hold -0.8mil each time, you will hold -3 inch on every target.

Can you connect Kestrel 5700 Ballistics to impact 4000? if yes, how? because I tried and couldn't do it. I also couldn't find any instructions on it.

I had this question as well. Since you have had trouble, I’m guessing you cannot. I believe you can only use lesser kestrels than the 5700x but I’m not sure. . I think you need one with Bluetooth but without AB or ballistics, etc..

wow the preloaded profiles are about worthless as elr calibers ? can this be used stand alone ? because to hunt long range it is Illegal in Idaho.... so can it be mounted to a tripod and used as a rangefinder?

Why you even need to do that? If you hunting short range just leave it on the rifle….. this is not only for long range….

@@not4younot4you70 oh because it is illegal in idaho to use it on a rifle same for any scope with read outs for hunting shooting steel is ok
