Would like to see green dots and more complex reticles added. The DPP is appreciated for an Sig guy. This is a good start but finish the lineup more completely.

I would love to hear a pro like Jerry explain why an 8 MOA dot over something finer like a 2 or 3. Is it just easier to see? Doesn't it cover a lot of the target? Maybe it's all relative when iron sights cover half the target anyway 😂
@MiseryDuke69Сағат бұрын
You pretty much answered it. It's easier to see and faster to pick up. 8 moa is only covering 4 inches at 50 yards on a target it's not so big that you can't see what you're aiming at so for self defense and most shooting matches it's nothing but a positive in 99% of cases

Why do so many manufacturers use larger MOAd for bigger window red dots? SRO is 2.5 and is one of the few that don’t do that.

My Dad has a BAR 7mm Mag that fits him well as he is 6'2". In the Mt Hill Woods I could hear that BAR action with it's long travel from a 1/2 mile distance when he would shoot a deer in a valley. That gun was like an Howitzer when it ran, even shook some show off hemlock bows when fired after a fluffy squall. I chose a BLR in 7mm-08 in the light weight package it is way easier to take on a long walk and is surgical on execution. I never had a need for the magnum cartages when a shot case can get it done.

How about a 1 moa dot? Why always that big dots
@Landoftheignorant2 күн бұрын
I’m looking at a 2, but I’ll take a 1 if possible. The medium size one would be good for a rifle.
@Mitsurugi24242 күн бұрын
You got that backwards. You want the smaller dot on the rifle, and the bigger dot for the pistol. I prefer not to go above 2moa on a handgun, but I refuse to go above 3 on a rifle.

Ah! 💡 Turning turrets: NOT "it's impacting..." but rather "it needs to go..." So in this instance (low left) I WOULDN'T dial my turrets 2 moa down & 2 moa left, because that's where the impacts are, but rather the impacts should go 2 moa up and 2 moa right, so that's what I need to dial to get on target. Don't mind me. I'm kind of a noob, but learning.

Ah, you're referring to the refresh rate. It's since been updated on the Defender-CCW to eliminate any issue. The Defender-XL has an entirely different emitter than the CCW and you certainly won't experience any issues with the refresh rate. Give us a shout if you have any questions!

No RMR footprint? That's a blunder. Why does it feel like every new Vortex red dot has some obvious drawback that should have come out in the design phase? No RMR footprint is such an obvious blunder. It's very clearly the winning footprint, the others are basically the betamax of footprints
