Excellent tutorial! I want to make this pillow and add heat transfer vinyl to the pocket. I haven’t used fusible fleece before, will the heat transfer vinyl be ok to apply? Thank you!

Heat transfer vinyl can melt under the iron. If you are worried about it, get the non fusible version of the fleece and baste it in place.

We are so glad you enjoyed the reading book pocket pillow. I did some calculations (and I hope they are correct) for making the pocket book pillow with a 16 x 16 square pillow insert. Here they are: Main Fabric 1 pc. 17" x 17" and 2 pc. 12" x 17". Accent Fabric Pocket 20" x 17" and Handle 4" x 8". Fusible Fleece 1 pc. 17" x 17" and 1 pc. 10" x 17".

Instead of putting the pillow in through the back slit, would it fit in through the book sleeve if you left it open on the bottom?

I don't think you would be able to get the pillow through the sleeve and into the opening.

Are you using a scissor or a rotary cutter? If you are using a scissor with a pencil you could draw a cutting line on the fabric. If you are using a rotary cutter and it slips and slides, try this easy way to keep the ruler from sliding: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/prlhgZWhuLKucYk.html

You don't need a pattern, she gives all of the measurements and instructions.
