2 жыл бұрынThis is a step-by-step tutorial on how to sew a thumbhole cuff for hoodies and sweatshirts.
Fabric used is Ribbing, 95% cotton and 5 % spandex.
The pattern is very easy to make.
The measurements without without seam allowances are as follows:
Adult size wrist circumference 15 cm:
The main part is 13.5 cm x 17 cm
The top piece 7.5 cm x 6.5 cm
Bottom piece is 10.5 cm x 6.5 cm. Loops parallel to the edges of the longest side.
7 yo child size wrist circumference 12.5 cm:
Main part 11 cm x 12 cm
Top insert 6 cm x 5 cm
Bottom insert 5 cm x 9 cm
Super stretch stitch length is set at 2.6 - 2.8 mm and width 0.8 mm
Straight stitch length is set at 3 mm

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm making a jacket with a sleeve circumference of 20 cm. Do you know how to alter the measurements of the patterns in this video to fit a larger size wrist?

Hi Ben, you can try the following measurements: Main piece: 16 x 19.5 cm (grain line is parallel to 19.5 cm side) Bottom part: 9.5 cm x 16 cm (grain line is parallel to 16 cm side) Top piece 9.5 cm to 10 cm (grain line is parallel to 10 cm side) The above measurements include seam allowance of 1 cm. You can easily make your calf longer by adding extra to 19.5 cm side and add the same to the bottom piece (to 16 cm side), eg if you add 2 cm to 19.5 cm , then you need to add 2 cm to 16 cm . I would not recommend making top piece longer. Hope it helps. Good luck :)
