Summer is here and that means it's time for some fun skirt projects. This tutorial shares the pattern making and sewing for this paneled maxi skirt with pockets. I used four metres of fabric in total for this piece.

The actual thing that has happened to me this year so far is me having to change my mind from getting married out of depression to follow my dreams, though I could have learnt a skill along the line but I opted to face my schooling instead... Now that am done with schooling, I realised there's more to me than getting married which is to explore... Now I explore with different sewing styles on kimdavis ...and get married out of my own willingness rather than out of depression... 😊

My 92 yr old mother in law is terminally ill and while that is terrible the good thing that has happend to my husband and I is being able to be with her during her last days. You see, we are missionaries in East Africa (10yrs and counting) and as you well know, it's expensive to fly back and forth. This yr we came to visit her in Feb and were to leave again in April. Then lock down happened. Flights were canceled. Her health has worsened and, had we left as scheduled, we would have missed her final days. We thank God for this small blessing during these difficult times.

Hi priscillia . One good thing that happened to me this year was that, during the lockdown here in Lagos, I was trusting God for an educational tablet for my 2 year old son. I wasn't working so money wasn't coming in. And I really wanted my son to have the tab so he could learn his abc's and 123's at home since he couldn't go to daycare cos of the lockdown. Miraculously without asking, someone blessed me with some money and I was able to buy it. Now my son is really enjoying his tab. Infact he's loving it!!!!! 😍😍😍 Thank you Jesus.

Thank you for saying this truth out loud and up front. We are three years on now, and justice is creeeeping up on some of the bad actors in our country at long last. However, this work is not finished and we must remain aware and active to bring peace and justice into existence. I so appreciate you.

this year surely has been so tough soo many bad things has happened. but if I think of one good thing that happened in my life I actually can come up with many good things. due to the lockdown I learnt a lot of new stuffs like sewing my own dress finally in which I succeeded and also became an expert in cooking. also i took this time to bond with my family and got to know a lot of new stuffs about my husband. just like they say every cloud has a silver lining this COVID-19 situation also has taught us a lot and made us newer better people.

Hi, enjoyed the panel skirt video. One good thing that has happened to me this year is I still have my job during the pandemic. I know a lot of people are out of work, and I could only imagine the anxiety being without income causes. I've been limited on the help I could do, so every pay day I donate $25 to a nonprofit organization that supports a community need like a food pantry, local church parish or a health center. My humble contribution to my community.

best thing that happened to me is that I was able to connect with my family members. With work, it was very hard to have a nice relationship with my parents, and I am very blessed by God that during this time, I am still able to have my family around and feel comforted by that. Not being able to work has definitely made me depressed, not making enough money to support my family, but I am slowly starting to recover from these negative thoughts, and this whole situation has really helped me realize that having loved ones around me is a blessing and I should not take that for granted ever! This was another great video Priscilla :))

One of the greatest things that happened to me this year was getting a sewing machine. It cost 37000naira and my dad paid for it. I'm a 5th year medical student and I dedicated the last 5yrs of my life to it. This lockdown was an opportunity to pay attention to my 2nd love. I started by watch a video of you unwrapping your machine. Thank you for all the patterns you draw and for using a simple language and explaining every step.

One good thing that has happened to me this year🤔.. For the past five years before this, a particular date has been kinda special to me (and no its not my birthday😃,or anyone else's ).. And this year, that date was even supposed to be extra special but It wasn't going to be cos I had kinda failed at what made that date special...i didn't even realise until the night 🌃 of that date, that it ended up being special,( not for the reason it had been special for the last five years ).. But cos I had gotten my very first sewing machine that day with the help of my parents ❤️.. It was like God telling me; that's not the only thing you're good at, Look! You'd be good at this too😊 I started this sewing journey ✂️about last year in October and yeah yeah it isn't all roses 🌹 and rainbow🌈 but I'm really really glad I took the step.

One good thing that has happened to me this year is learning to finally love myself and to seek my happiness from within and not from people or things around me. I have been struggling with depression for some years now which got worse earlier this year after I was scammed of my business capital for fabrics sales which I started last year to assist myself with school. I felt I was going to drop out of school but am presently getting better now and plan to start my business all over again from the scratch once schools resume and the lockdown finally ends. Thanks for your tutorials they inspire me to sew more and improve on myself.

First of all, I want to say a big thank you for this tutorial. One good thing that has happened to me this year is learning fashion designing online even though I don't have a sewing machine yet. I've been wanting to learn for a long time but due to the clause of no sewing machine, I just stay back. But this year, I decided to go and learn (mostly online) and I do all my practicals with needle and thread stitches and I'm actually doing well in it.

The power over model, patriarchy, systemic racism and generational trauma of the last 401 years since slavery have converged and are finally being confronted. *It's long overdue. It's a challenging and painful chapter in history yet at the same time, the change is so crucial. So we can evolve spiritually and understand each other and help heal one another and the earth.* Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings, Priscilia, during these challenging times. *Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Who knew I could rock it on a skirt without boning???? One of the good things that have happened to me this year is being able to bounce back from near depression. I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I had left many things undone cuz I felt overly stressed. I packed up my sewing machine and decided it was time to give up for about four months. Thank God He helped me find myself and now I'm back to sewing. I just started making hair bonnets to sell and hoping to move next level from there.

I remember crying and asking the doctor how am going to do my final year projects. The doctor said,"🤗all things work together for good"... 6 weeks later my cast was removed and exactly a week later,Kenya reported their first Covid-19 case and schools were closes. I was devastated😭 and I asked God why...but stepping back,I was like " 🤔🤔wait a minute" If I had not broken my arm,I would have done just basic designs resulting to lower grades because I researched alot when my arm was broken If Covid-19 had not affected our country,I definitely wouldn't have enough time to finish my 11 projects All am saying is that setbacks only results to major comebacks. Look at the catapult theory; for the stone to go far,you need to pull the catapult far back. This pandemic has put us on a catapult,it has set us waaaaay back but when we will be launched back,we'll go to greater lengths and heights. All things work together for good. 2020= SETBACKS ONLY RESULTS TO MAJOR COMEBACKS

This skirt is so pretty😍😍😍😍. I love the technique you used in attaching the pockets. Makes life easier that way. Definitely recreating this with my own twist on my channel. You are such an inspiration and I love love love the way you make your videos. I just started creating content here, haven’t gotten used to things but thanks for always being here as a source of guidance without even knowing it😊. ❤️❤️❤️ One good thing that has happened to me this year is finally starting my KZfaq channel. The amount of happiness I feel once I’ve successfully uploaded a video is out of this world. ❤️keeps me busy so I don’t focus on all that’s going on this period.

This year has been really tough. I hope anyone going through any problem finds someone to talk to. It has been so tough on me and as I write this I really can’t think of anything good that has happened to me. I guess the one good thing that has happened is the birth of my nephew. I’m happy he’s here with us now.

I'm grateful for this year,my sewing game has improved though not where i want it to be and watching your videos have really helped me as a self taught designer. I couldn't afford a proper training but watching your sewing and fashion tips videos has really been of great help. I'll be grateful if I win this £100 so i can make up and purchase an overlock machine. I'm a big fan of your work on IG as i follow all your pages.

Thanks for sharing this skirt pattern and make. I had a 9 gore pc skirt and it was fabulous. I'm not on IG but I've learnt to be more grateful for what I have also saved a lot too. Much love to you and yours. Also felt the pain in your voice talking about what has happened over the past week or so. It's very SAD amidst all that's happening with COVID19. Take care and be safe.

😍Fell in love with this skirt immediately I saw it. I showed to my sister because she was the only person that came to my mind when I saw the skirt, and she fell too😅. 😊 I'm making hers soon. Then, for the one good thing that has happened to me this year: I've left my Thinking Zone (because I always hesitate and procrastinate) and entered my Action Zone;😄and it's going well. Thank you Kim.
