Yeah I usually condition a couple times a week and usually shampoo 3 times. Some days I’ll wet it but won’t even wash it, just to get rid of bed hair. I use high quality products though.

highly anticipating the shampoo + conditioner video. im myself 2 years and about 4 months into growing my hair and used to simply use a vegan soap before switching to a proper shampoo. the soap was very mild but sadly always left my hair greasy. cheers

Soap dries the hair and skin out , shampoo + ideally condition after to get the best results , comes down to each individually though , i find conditioner makes my hair too silky soft , so i just shampoo , but soap on hair is never a good idea ,

Thankyou I am a female with very long hair...and the technique is RIGHT. Work the scalp and the ends will take care of themselves. PS to avoid any scalp infections..(.which I have exp.) wash your hands FIRST.....then you can go after that scalp and you will give it a massage as well which will give you even longer hair......................:) For the record: mine is 25.5 inches. For combing......................Start at the ends of the hair and work your way up rather than top down. This ensures no pressure is put on the roots, minimizing damage. Make sure you only ever use a wide-tooth comb when the hair is wet. Brushing when damp can cause a lot of damage as it stretches the strands rather than separates them.

When im washing with only conditioner, is it right for me to massage my scalp like in the video? I feel like if I dont massage my scalp, then I get dandruff from product buildup. And obviously im using the conditioner on my ends, I just massage to get rid of any remaining conditioner that found its way onto my scalp. Thanks.

Loads if not most shampoos tend to say for daily use but unless you suffer with a really itchy scalp or very oily skin , it really isnt needed , 1 - 2 times a week for a good shampoo + conditioner is just fine ,(obviously if its really hot and you sweat alot then do more) you can always still wash your hair with water on other days , as the dude said its all about keeping the scalp fresh and healthy , the natural oils do the rest.

This seems like the right video to ask.. How much hair loss is normal during a shower? I guess a little bit might just be normal, but I lose what feels like hundreds and hundreds of hairs (realisticly it is still a whole bunch, my drain gets blocked every 2-3 days because of that). And as soon as I decided to grow my hair out, I was very careful in handling it. Maybe I'm just overthinking it. :D Still would like to know if others have this problem and how much would be "normal" or if I need to worry about this.
@TheLonghairs
@TheLonghairs 7 жыл бұрын
It's normal to lose hair everyday. I lose a lot in the shower as well, not a shocking amount but probably a little more than most. I don't brush all the time so most of my fallout happens in the shower. Some other factors you may want to think about is the temp of the water. Are you taking really hot showers? That will make your hair come out easier because your pores and follicles open up. Try taking a cold shower and see if you know notice a difference.

Haha, typical straight hair technique. That is SO MUCH SHAMPOO! But to be fair, I follow a water only washing routine. I haven't used actual shampoo on a regular basis for...3 years? So I don't even remember what a proper amount of shampoo is anymore!

How do you keep the grease away? My hair is thick and dry, shampoo days are the bane of my life as it makes the hair more dry and poof outwards, and i could so do without it!
@callmeswivelhips8229
@callmeswivelhips8229 7 жыл бұрын
It takes some time to transition, but it definitely works. Your oil production goes down, and becomes evenly distributed throughout the hair after a few months. In your case, your hair will dry out first before your sebum production GOES UP! I slowly used less shampoo, and stretched wash days out. Put it up a lot, just kept it hidden. W/E After 3 months, I was shampooing once a week. Then I switched to the most common NO POO method, baking soda/ACV (which requires precise measuring to ensure it protects rather than damages your acid mantle). After my oil production fully stabilized (this method cleanses little to no oil, but still cleans the hair and scalp), I switched to a water only routine, and have been very happy with it ever since! People are accustomed to thinking of their natural sebum as "dirty" and "disgusting" when it's not. As long as I clarify with distilled water regularly to prevent mineral build up from my tap water, my sebum acts as conditioner, not grease. Without the excess minerals, it's thin and smooth rather than thick and waxy. And because I don't put nearly as many man-made chemicals on my hair anymore (if any), it stays hydrated and dries much faster after I get it wet. You should try it, my long & wavy hair was SO MUCH EASIER to manage when I finished transitioning successfully.

@callmeswivelhips8229
@callmeswivelhips8229 7 жыл бұрын
I would categorize shampoo & conditioner once a week as the cut off point for a normal shampooing routine. For people with straight hair, that's a little radical. But for pretty much everyone else, it's relatively normal. Anything less than that I would call the beginning stages of Low Poo. You don't really get to that point by accident unless you have very curly hair.

I can't understand how people like you [+80% of society] can even accept their own thoughts .. although they share them your wife ain't a male [I hope] so you can't just share her/his idiocy with some people which aren't even close to.

1-you have to wash your hair part by part .. or at least use the shampoo in more than 1 spot. 2-you just used oily shampoo for your oily hair. 3-as you said, you hadn't had a shower for 3 [fucking] days .. least thing you could do is using the shampoo twice.
