How to sharpen a razor sharp knife !( sharp razor)

In today's video I introduce to you a homemade knife sharpener. I used 2 pieces of wood, a piece of stainless steel and an iron, I used 3 types of sandpaper plus a metal polishing wax. I designed an extra spring to help clamp the knife quickly when sharpening. it works great, you can also invest the time to make one yourself for long term use. Он просто испортил нож! Вдоль не точат, нужно точить по перёк! В конце видео видно, что болтик с пружиной он поставил короче, так как он мешает сделать нужный угол. И как он оби стороны сводил ровно? Скорее всего на одной стороне кромка шире на другой уже. Для такой заточки можно купить самую дешевую китайскую точилку за 100 рублей, такой же будет результат.

Having declared my dissatisfaction with this sharpener last night kzfaq.infoUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ I thought about the problem some more. It occurred to me that I might be undoing each attempt at achieving a sharp edge by the repeated attempts. So, I tried to clean up the unsatisfactory result by honing with only positions 3 and 4.Miracle!! A really nicely sharpened chef's knife, more than enough to handle my needs. Admittedly, it did not reach professionally sharpened razor-fineness, but it is now significantly sharper than it was. A bout of breaking down carrots convinced me. So, major apologies to the manufacturer, Amazon, and all happy and potential owners! Follow the directions: don't buy it if you have ceramic blades; and don't overwork your knife blade.

Considering field knives, chef knives, axes for splitting and felling, game dressing knives etc etc etc all have different edge geometries and profiles, this is good for one basic edge and nothing else FYI I Sharpen knives and competition axes professionally.

В похожей точилке клеил шкурку клеевым карандашем. Клей как мыло, шкурка держится и легко меняется
