How to Shield off Defenders with NBA Lakers Coach Phil Handy

Los Angeles Lakers Coach Phil Handy, Jiggy , and Juju Watkins go over a variety of good moves to use on defenders to gain separation and to also shield off defenders from getting a steal. The work starts before the move starts with protecting the ball.

Chase your dreams. Pay the money. Suppose you ran into someone who knew some serious tips and drills that REAL pros do privately, or you meet Lebron and he signed your jersey which now worth $200 dollar, or the coach needed to hire a nice guy as an assistance. Pay the money and learn and network. Anything is posssible!

Came back to this video JuJu put the work in and is an absolute beast... Love how Phil breaks down the reason for what there doing to explain why they are doing moves a certain way. You can see them execute better when they have that understanding. Coach is outstanding. Shout out to the players for putting that work in and being coachable!

That last move with the dribble on the baseline, then the pound and quick step to the right is very difficult. It would turn any defender into jelly, not having any idea what you’re doing playing around on the baseline so dangerously, risking a turnover. That extra dribble where he allowed them to go between the legs made it a bit easier and gave them something to work toward that felt smoother. It would still crush your average defender either way.
