This is what happens when you let TWO Curly Vloggers go shopping together. S/O to my Curl Friend Curly Penny for helping me show y'all how to choose the BEST products for your curly hair. It is SO important to read the labels on these products. The hair product section can be very intimidating but this method really helps narrow things down....
1. No Sulfate
2. No Silicone
3. No Paraben
Looking for 10 SILICONE FREE CONDITIONERS FOR UNDER $10?! Watch Curly Penny's video NEXT and SUBSCRIBE to her channel! Let her know that Bianca Renee sent ya!

*IMPORTANT UPDATE* Thanks to you ladies sharing your knowledge, "Methosulfate" surprisingly is NOT a sulfate! Found this researching... "Generally, sulfates are only in shampoos since they are foaming agents. If you see “behentrimonium methosulfate” do not worry. This is usually used in conditioners to thicken and detangle" PHEW! GOOD TO KNOW! This means that the CANTU Curl Activator is ok!!
Another Update, there is 1 Cantu Leave In Conditioner with silicone and 1 Mielle Organics Curl Smoothie product with silicone! UGH! Bummer. CHECK ALL LABELS! Thanks for sharing everyone! Let's continue to help each other find the BEST products!
BRANDS where ALL of their products are Sulfate, Paraben & Silicone Free:
- DevaCurl
- Curls
- Curl Keeper
- Briogeo
- Rizos Curls
- Camille Rose Naturals
- Shea Moisture
- Maui Moisture
- Bounce Curl
Who Else Can I Add to this list? Please leave a comment and let us know if you are CONFIDENT that their ENTIRE line checks out!
Many times brands will have a sulfate free shampoo but NOT a silicone free conditioner. Or maybe a silicone free GEL but not a silicone free leave in conditioner... you just have to READ! These are no secrets... we're literally just reading the fine print ... 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Another update: Shea Moisture does have at least one product with silicone. It's the Manuka honey and mafura oil deep conditioner (I think) so be cautious! Bianca girlie, you told us to never be misleaded by the front, and I agree! Not trying to bash you, I was shocked when I heard this in a SM product too.

You should change the title to how to shop for CG friendly products. Only because there are some of us with natural hair that do use silicones but at the same time it doesn’t really give our hair that much problems. I have low porosity hair and silicones don’t give me build up or anything like that. My hair is also super super thick so the silicones are actually good for me. Just use what works best for you. This video is just for people that want products that are 100% natural. I use mixed checks which may have silicones but it’s a OG favorite and it’s awesome.

Some natural curlies & kinkies actually use sulfates & silicones & have no problem with it. Aussie moist & Herbal Essences Hello Hydration are both very popular & low budget. U don’t have 2 follow the cg method 2 have healthy hair. The cg method is good, but I know lots of naturals that use ORS, Pantene, etc. & their hair is gorgeous

Sonya Matyushenko is you’re using a sulfate free shampoo, those usually don’t remove silicones, so they just build up on your hair and make it limp and lifeless and prevent it from growing. But if you use a sulfate shampoo, it’ll get it out, but sulfates are terrible for your hair
@laurynalana1876
@laurynalana1876 4 жыл бұрын
Cheyenne Stevenson Not if you use a great deep conditioner afterwards. I have used some sulfate free shampoo’s that are actually very stripping themselves. To me herbal essence is hello hydration shampoo doesn’t strip as much as shea moisture’s charcoal shampoo. At the end of the day I would just say use what works best for you whether you’re following the CG method or not

I found this really easy way to figure out what to look out for *sulfates* are ingredients that contain "sulfate" or "sulfonate"; *silicones* end in -one, -conol, or -xane but *PEG* *modified* *silicones* *are* *acceptable* ; *waxes* contain the word "wax"; and *drying* *alcohols* often contain propyl, prop, eth, or denatured in the name. *note:* *not* *all* *alcohols* *are* *drying* *some* *are* *actually* *moisturizing* Have fun shopping!

REUBEN THERE DONE THAT what a ridiculous uninformed comment you posted lmao sulfate shampoos and conditioners, while they may not visibly damage your hair it is weakening it and causing breakage which is one of the reasons your length stays the same or you have to use extra products to control frizz dryness or excessive oils if u reduce the amount of sulfates the better ur hair will react to the good products and the less products u need to maintain styles THINK and do RESEARCH just because one product they say works for them doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean the entire research is wrong have common sense

I love the energy! Even when u diss on a product, y’all are still kind about it. Love that energy! Sometimes ethic products use cheaper oils that are fine for coarse hair, but too weighted for most hair types. Ya might as well just use raw oil and a little essential for scent in a dollar sprayer.
