Thank you just got into magic after a 20 year hiatus lol. Started my first commander deck and totally couldn't shuffle it lol. So I actually would watch how other player's did it. Wish I had this video at the time lol.

I do this except without a flashy bridge shuffle to combine them. When you were holding the two decks wedged into each other...you just had to push them together to achieve the same result. Doing the bridge just bends cards and is flashy. I used to love practicing shuffle tricks on old decks as a kid and build card houses. Absolutely had to use the rough shuffled decks for card houses because it curled them slightly. I can't do that to my mtg cards

How does one get a Handsome Toffel at home to shuffle our decks? Is there a kickstarter?

if you're looking for the actual name for this shuffle, it's a pharaoh's shuffle. The only difference, he shuffles from the side rather than top and finishes with a sideways riffle shuffle. It does damage cards unless you know how to blossom and start from the top corner into the side of the side of the deck

Mash shuffle from the side, so that gravity performs the majority of the work. A playmat can support the bottom half of the shuffle. Also, divide the main deck into two sub-decks, shuffled separately to begin with. It maximizes randomness, but more importantly it warms your hands up for performing the same motions on the larger main deck.

Ive been pile and mash shuffling for decades, no one can stop me.

You know, if someone is afraid of bending their cards (that's me), the first half of the shuffle still look very useful.

If you don't want warped cards, don't do this. Any shuffle that uses a springing motion is damaging to your cards. Pile shuffle or gently weave them if you care

I thought that was the standard way to shuffle. I do that at least 7 times, as I've been told that should be enough to completely randomise the deck.

This is a Bridge Shuffle but just in your hands instead of on the table. This won't impress your friends it will make them all cringe as they all know you are damaging your cards. You can see how his cards are curved a bit. That is from this shuffle doing that to the cards.

Definitely need high quality sleeves to pull this off. I'm pretty good with card dexterity, and I Definitely can't do this with my deck with cheap, bulk sleeves.

That's gives me anxiety. But that's basically how I shuffle I just don't riffle as the end cause that hurts my soul

Just pile shuffle it will create a better shuffle anyway and won't bend your cards

It looks like a Version of one of the shuffle Styles I learned in Casino. But the Cards there are thinner and unsleeved and made of plastic. So No Wonder you have to make some changes.

I see people do this from time to time but I don’t recommend it Can accidentally bend your cards But main reason is if it’s perfect pharaoh shuffles and do same amount of times each time you can get accused of cheating
