How to silence the battery warning chirp noise on Honeywell H450EN Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detector

This video shows you how to get rid of the end of life battery chirp noise on the Honeywell H450EN CO Detector by turning it off. This unit has also been rebadged for British Gas so these instructions will work for that unit as well. The front looks the same. The unit enters the battery chrip mode after about 7 years, but as it has sealed in batteries they cannot be removed and it is a good idea to put the unit into a silent off mode for disposing.As always Please replace the detector as they do keep you safe and well, ultimately they save lives.

Thank you so much. Began chirping at 3 in the morning. Woke up to wonder what the heck was chirping like that. Drove me nuts. Found out it was this detector, that the previous tenant had left in the house I now rent. Been chirping on and off for 2 days. Was going to smash it with a hammer, as I couldn't make it stop. You have saved the day and my ears. So well appreciated :)

Thank you!!! This was driving me nuts and I couldn’t work out how to turn it off. I also deafened myself by chancing and testing my fire alarm as I originally thought that was what was beeping.

I put it bottom of garden last night this morn it was back on my doorstep?? yes neighbor 100yds away came into my garden and brought it to my door grrrrr
