I really don't want to make a big deal of this. I truly just wanted some simple "fireside chats" with one of my students on how we got to singing songs like "Livin' On A Prayer".
In fact, these videos are so raw and impromptu that we didn't even warm up for this.
I just sincerely wanted it to be honest and obvious as to our "human-ness" and that everyone needs to work on this, and how we got there.

Ken is very serious about his vowels 😆 As a great mentor he gave me a hard time on those because they are key to the techniques. Thats the way to go! 🤘🤘🤘

Thanks a lot ! I've been trying to sing this song for months and was stuck on the last part. Now I better understand how to do it, but it will take a lot of practice to get there. It's also very cool to have a live demonstration, it's more human and closer to what is actually every day training. Fantastic work by Ken and João ! Thank you again !

Great demonstration. I love that you involve students in your videos. I have been working on my voice solo for a little while now. Wish I could afford lessons. I have discovered that I apparently have a decent range, but don't know how to use it. According to a range finding test, I was lowest at G1 and highest at Bb6. Keep up the good work helping people Ken. (Edit, I should mention the G1 was from attempting to use growl/subharmonics)

Parabens, nao te conhecia ainda, but I follow the great Ken for some years now and learned a lot from him and singing in a Rock/Pop band in southern Brazil , I can sing now songs that I never where able to before like living on a prayer because of Ken. Bravo, guys! I was listening to this song in the car the other day, and I think I figured something out. When Jon Bon Jovi sings it, he obviously puts a lot into it, start to finish. To duplicate his sound, it took a lot of effort to sing, because of the throat compression. It kind of hurt a little bit. I switched over to a pure "open throat" technique, and could belt this out with no problem. I wonder if that style of singing may have contributed to JBJ's vocal issues over the years? I noticed that he sings most of the material on his pre-"New Jersey" albums with a lot of compression, then his voice sounds cleaner and more open on "New Jersey." I remember reading that Queensryche opened up for these guys in the '86 - '87 timeframe. I imagined the bands playing a game called "Let's trade songs," and how they may have sounded. This song would be easier to sing over a period of years in Tate's style, I think.

Ken, i know you are going to think im gunning for free lessons by saying this. My daughter is a heck of a natural singer, smokes trained singers in plays at school. (all we have done is karaoke and her and her friends sing every night at gymnastics practice) Obviously you are an ALL-STAR. So we were listing to Whitesnake the other day and you know what she says.....that sounds like KEN TAMPLIN. Im always listening to all your vids. im better because of it and im only a Karaoke guy. Dentist told me to go ahhhhh today....so i hit a G#...(i have no clue what note it was)...i held it for maybe 5 seconds and she said...wow nice singing voice...LOL, thanks to you KEN! My youngest, she also sings, loves Klaus Meine, george michael etc and loves you too .Right now, i put you against Bon Jovi, you will destroy him, look up the video from a few years back of him signing at a wedding - i can sing better than that and im a 4 out of 10.

Ken great job teaching. You prove what you do through singing. I was just watching another vocal coach. Lol. Pretty woman with glasses. She has more followers but she doesn't prove she can sing any. I see Alot of female musicians using there sexual image to get more views and are average musicians.

Hey Ken, as a baritone whose top chest voice is only an F#4, I've been thinking about purchasing your singing course, after hearing about mixed voice. Can a baritone like me hit high tenor notes? Keep up the awesome work, it inspires me.

I'm not Ken, but yes you definitely can. If I remember correctly, Ken is also a baritone and with proper technique he can hit high notes easily. I'm also baritone just like you and now I can hit notes as high as E5 in mixed voice (on a good day). It tooks me years of training, but I learned alone, so with Ken's course you should get there faster without hurting yourself. :) Just remember than range isn't everything. Make sure to understand the basics (pitch, tone, breathing, voyels placement) before trying to extend your range. Don't be like my younger self, hurting your voice until you succeed. :p

Hlw Ken Templin ! I used to watch your every videos just before 2 years. I am 19 years old running guy. My voice just changed from tenor to baritone at the age nearly 17 and I am having problem to adapt to my new voice from the last 1.5 years as I used to speak with falsetto or Airy or breathy before the change. It is very difficult for me to even speak with long hours and Power. But when I Lower my larynx it feels much more comfortable to speak. My normal pitch ranges from G2/A2 to F3 (Highest with no cracks) while speaking or singing. My question here is if there is any vocal exercises for me to Lower my larynx permanently or atleast adapt to my new voice with a proper form. Therefore, due to my new voice my singing tone has sucked as it is much deep but less Stamina. Even people around me says my voice is too dark which sounds like a horrible guy. I am hoping for your answers and the suggestions of exercises. Thanking You
