BACKWARD ON ONE FOOT TUTORIAL
In this video I will teach you how to skate backward on one foot without cones and at cones.
I've used 80 cm between cones as the standard length.
The plan of this video:
0:30 1. On two legs:
- Backward snake on 5 wheels (the main weight on a 4-wheel skate)
- Backward snake on 5 wheels and you "snake" only with the skate which is on 4 wheels.
Keep in mind that your back is not straight as its tilt.
1:43 2. Okay, let's try on one leg:
- Our main leg is bent a little or a lot, but not straight.
- The leg which is in the air should be bent on 90 degree or even more, so in that case it will be easier to balance and you won't kick the cones.
3:06 3. Great. Let do the backward one foot on cones:
- turn your leg which is in the air on 90 degrees. With this leg we can swing to the left and to the right. This will help to gain speed(or slow down when you need it) and keep the rhythm.
- Let's try swinging on the grass first and then on asphalt and on cones.
- When you do it on cones, you can watch down or through your shoulder. But I will recommend learning with the watching through the shoulder.
