Then there's staggered stance, where one foot is slightly behind the direction you're going (meaning if you're going right, your left foot would be behind the right, like if you see Rebel moving the pumping leg front and back) here your using the inner edge of the back skate.

I think it's what's called "ina bauer" in figure skating. It's very beautiful, specially in lay back position (when it uses front foot's outside edge)

Thanks for this Rebel! Love the outfit here!!! Also!!! What trick do you recommend as a FIRST MOVE for an intermediate skater? I've been skating for 2 years and I'm really stumped on what to learn. I'm also kind of scared honestly lol anything other than skating fakey feels scary. I can lift a skate and go on 4 wheels and bubble. But trying to go backwards or cross over feels shaky. Any ideas? I don't know what to learn first to break out of this. Thanks!

I would recommend developing strong edges. A lot of tricks require them and that will help you be more comfortable learning new stuff

I’m trying but I can’t get both of my legs to go straight any tips on how I can get this down?

I’ve been skating for a year and can do all sorts of things now, but for some reason I can’t get this down. I can pump with my back leg and everything, I just always end up going in a circle. The more I bend my knees the bigger the circle is, vs if my legs are completely straight, feet next to each other-I go in a super small circle as if I’m spinning. I’m guessing I need to align my heels more? I practice yoga and can do that open leg position rather easily now…. So…. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! Maybe it’s where I’m distributing my weight…. You make it look so easy!

I call it side stance, when your legs are straight, before going into a circle aka spread eagle.
