Learn how to sketch a floor plan! This is a complete beginners guide helping you draw your very first floor plan. We will NOT be using a scale ruler or graphing paper - we're basically free handing much of it! I worked for an architect that yelled at me if I opened Autocad or Revit if I hadn't yet sketched a Floorplan and elevations. Its just good practice to get ideas out and collaborate before doing anything digital.

I paused it at 1:30 to THANK YOU I am a complete begginner, just trying to lay out my garage before building shelves or moving qorkbenches around. Nothing too precise, nothing fancy, just to see if items fit, and the spacr left over to build shelves and stuff... Super useful video, truly; any chance you could do one about Rayon? I find their software super useful, but I am not sure that I am using it to its maximum; I used to work on AutoCAD, bu really Rayon is SO much better and faster

Use foamcore board to build a scale model. Use 1/4” = 1’0”. It was easy. I built a real 32’ x 64’ house.

Great video. Funny, but there’s dinosaurs 🦕 out there that still draw houses by hand! I’m one of them. But the laser will get you put in a dumpster on the job site. Lovely idea, but in practice, not accurate enough for interiors!

i crafted this video while being a full time student working three jobs. honestly I was at capacity that week and I didnt want to redraw it. I remember explicitly not having enough time on my hands to redraw. but being a small youtuber I felt a lot of pressure to keep pushing out content like clockwork every week. I have since learned quality over quantity but at that time i did not know this. So yes, it is a ROUGH hand drawn floor plan. but it also might resonate more w beginners anyway. I do encourage the redrawing aspect of it toward the end of the video.
