MODERN BUILDS
Hi, My name is Mike Montgomery and I'm a MAKER; a designer, builder, and full-time content creator. Accessibility is my focus with Modern Builds, not simply accessibility of designs, but accessibility in materials, information, and projects themselves. I've focused on creating furniture and DIY projects that are simple enough that any beginner maker can accomplish, yet interesting enough that any expert might be inspired. Building and making is becoming less and less of an exclusive hobby and profession. My goal is to reduce that separation even further.

Looks great. I'm curious what the walls look like with a low angle light close to the wall. Re tips. you could add different colour pigments to every new coat of compound, that way you detect the voids a lot faster.

Crazy! We had paneling in our house too before we ripped it all out and went to a smooth skim coat. Didn’t do it ourselves though, but watching your tutorial gives me even more appreciation for what my guys did though! Saving this for when I might have to do it for my garage.

Since you took off the trim around the doors, will you put corner protectors on there or just leave as is? I think about it chipping if you move furniture in and out. Thanks.

Hi Mike, I bought the sander and the Dustopper based on your recommendation. My question is how did you connect the house from the sander to the dustopper. It looks like you used white duct tape. Is that correct? Thanks in advance for your help!

The walls look great. How any hours did it take you, start to finish? This desert house is going to look fantastic when you are done. If you follow the NBA, I'd like to know what you think of OKC's picks in the draft. As an Okie who now lives in LA, I'm really stoked about the Thunder's immediate future. Thanks for the video and for the entire series.

Thanks dude!! it was 4-5 full days and a couple easy days of spot filling/sanding. I definitely would've taken Jabari Smith after Orlando passed on him but I hope Chet can put on some muscle/weight over the next couple seasons and be really good!! Did you sand the exisitng textured paint before applying the compound? or just clean the wall and put the compound over it? Because my textured paint wall has glossy finish on it, I'm afraid the compound can not grab onto it.

bruh you could of used your knife to bust out all high points then sand. you over there looking like you sanding down a whole mountian on certain spots. . but you got it done, whatever works best, you did say your not a pro, yeah bust out them high points with nice sturdy 6" knife, scrap it all down then sand. I'm no pro but I've been taught a trick or 2.
