Please can you upload more videos on this, and show which wires you ran to where? I'm about to do this on my truck and would like to see more about it, especially the wiring including the starter relay. I have my 1991 d0dge ram 350 and all the wires is modified by the previous owner and i want to restore the wiring in its factory wiring connection. The truck is cranking but it wont start.

No kidding. I have an '89 W-150 4x4. The only issue currently is the brakes lights which are a gamble that they may or may both work. That plus the interior dome keeps burning out. No one has been of help, not the forums, not the auto electric garages. The trouble is whatever solution is found will work only for a while, maybe even a minute. But it's a great truck with very low miles. I'm getting to the point of building a whole new wiring harness.

Hey Filthy Rich, I would love to replace the fusible links on my dodge and your video is great. Can you quickly explain what type of circuit breaker that is? How do you know what amps the fusible links are that trying to replace? I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to vehicle electronics. Thanks!
@DEBOSSGARAGE
@DEBOSSGARAGE 8 жыл бұрын
+Matt D It should say on the fusible link what amperage it is. If you can't read it, turn every accessory in the car on (all lights, fan, radio,wipers, have someone rolling the windows up and down) and then cut the fusible link. This will tell you what circuits are on that link. Put an amp meter between the cut wires and see what the draw is. Put a slightly higher circuit breaker where the fusible link was. The alternator will need the biggest at 150 amps but the rest should be 15 and 20 amps.

+Zach Noll The circuit breakers are the big items. Make sure you have at least a 50 amp if you are running your alternator through it. I just hooked my alternator straight to the second battery. Heat shrink ring terminals for the 14 and 12 gauge wire and eyes for the 10 gauge wire I had in the shop. I gutted an old broken fuse and put a 3/8 bolt through it with some silicone and you are off to the races.
@zachnoll4863
@zachnoll4863 8 жыл бұрын

They are ridiculously expensive. A buddy of mine drives only F150's with his company. The dealer offered to buy back his 2011 with 160 000 km on it for $21k . They still have to make money on the resale after that. We did go over budget because absolutely everything was broken, but he still well under a 5 year old truck cost.

I see where you're coming from and you are correct on the body styles, but for the purpose of this reference and most others with the subject, "1st Gen" is referring only to the Dodge trucks that came with the Cummins Turbo Diesel. If you look at anything dealing with the diesel truck industry.... forums, aftermarket, etc. that is the standard...only Cummins power plants. I may be a year or two off here or there, but basically:1st Gen- '89-'932nd Gen- '94- '023rd Gen-'03- '084th Gen- '09- Present
