@@hiltonseawright nah dude, big muff is a fuzz. A four transistor circuit to be specific. I mean you can call it fuzz/distortion but you can’t hear the smashing pumpkins or my bloody valentine and tell me it’s not a fuzz

@@jonathangillis4926 A year later... I feel the need to retort with the fact that the bumble buzz didn't exist until sometime after Jack had already established Third Man Records. But as far as the Jack White sound thing, that's fair, and could be said for most any artist. God, I can't wait to go to a Raconteurs show I got tickets for recently! :)

pretty sure jack keeps the twin twelve amp clean and the micro amp on and dimed for his “clean” sound, but it’s six one way and half dozen the other. you were spot on.

Actually as someone who's seen both him and Jack White live, Demarco probably had a wider selection of pedals that he used.

I took pictures before both concerts, and Demarco actually puts in a lot of time to get that "easy going" sort of warped in cough syrup sound. I also could make a list about Jack white just as easily.... 1. Beat up, cheap guitar from the 60's. 2. Incredibly expensive octave pedals. 3. Have knowledge of a one chord to a four to a five

you'll probably need sth that gives you the opportunity to play an octave below (like a POG or Whammy) to play stuff like seven nation army, but i think a lot of tones are possible with just the Big Muff

Evan Stoudt It won't get you there perfectly, but I'd recommend a pitch shifter of some sort that allows a mix of the wet and dry signals (I care for the EHX Pitch Fork myself) and some sort of an overdrive (nothin' wimpy neither, get yourself something that screams).

It's going to distort octave lower, so probably more basy and in general like shit

I've always wondered this but its just what Jack did it makes no sense as typically you want the octaves with distortion not distorted octaves. Idk tho.
