I see alot of for sale adds that often times say low miles or original miles on a old ford that only has a 5 digit odometer and more often than not the condition of the truck doesn't match. We have a 69 f-100 with 46k miles on it and I wanted to show the things on this truck that has really helped me to be able to spot trucks that might have a little bit more use on it than the odometer shows. And just want to mention again here like I did in the video. This is not about knocking guys who repaint or restore trucks or even the people who I have seen selling trucks. Its just an informational video.

I found the buildsheet under the back seat of my 1967 Galaxie 500 2 door fastback. It was like finding a hidden treasure!!

My favorite is when they say "110k, low miles!!", at 100k these were wore out. My '73 F100 Custom has 22k which I believe to be original. The pedals aren't worn and the vinyl floor doesn't have a hole where your heel would dig in. I know the rear shoes are original because the drums were still held on by the clip washers. The seat still sits like new.

I'm a Canadian, so when I buy a truck from the South, I don't care about the mechanical. I only care about the rust. I bought a 2001 Dodge Cummins 3500 from Florida sight unseen during the pandemic. I knew there was something wrong with it that they weren't telling me. I could see that the underside was perfect and the engine had no blow-by. When the truck was shipped here I found out it needed an entire front end. I was happy with that. Now I have a rust free 2nd gen with a new front end. Someday I will have a highboy as a Sunday driver. I bought it from Bigboyrides in Miami.

Subscribed. I watched the series about the high boy build, had a '69 camper special. I relived my flareside 3 times, I guess it's time to replicate my 1st truck. Maybe a highboy flareside, hahha

David Fox glad you as a subscriber! highboy flare sides are pretty rare! We have a 67 highboy that was originally a flare side one of 915 made.

We recently bought a 71' F350 flatbed dually which we are in the process of restoring. We aren't trying to keep it all original just, want a cool old truck that looks good and works well. The truck had factory AC but, has not worked in decades. We would like to have air in it one day but, probably is gonna be the last thing we do to it. Would you recommend aftermarket like "Vantage Air" or try to get the factory going again? Thanks in advance 😉👊

Pretty sure that was custom cab vs base model but I’m not 100% sure on that.

Yebo Screbo I thought that’s what you might be referring to. That is the higher trim level bezel that is plastic. This one is what the 67-69 base models got. It’s painted steel. My 67 highboy truck has the same one.
