Building an agency in 2021 is difficult. But there's a framework to follow on how to start a 7 figure software development agency
I grew my company from $500 to multi-7 figures in less than 2 years hitting the 7 figure mark within 52 weeks
I knew nothing about growth or marketing. This was my first venture into business and I was miserable working nearly 95-100 hours a week
But now, that work load is less than 5 hours a week with everything almost fully automated. I'm not a guru trying to sell you a dream, nor do I aim to be
I'm simply sharing the mindset, processes and strategies that worked for me to help me go from a very unhealthy lifestyle to a business mindset where I focus on growth and product first
An agency is a complex business model because you initially start it with your reputation on the line but slowly need to scale it beyond your name
If done well you're off to the bank laughing, if not you're stuck in a quicksand business
Lets walk through how you can laugh yourself to the bank with the exact steps and strategies to start a software consulting business
Also I apologise for the title, but its what YT likes

Great video and advice Vaibhav! Especially on the different groups to reach out to for your first customers. I'd add to that your friends and family network - we had great luck with that in our early days.

Not at the moment as I'm focusing on the diversifying bit. I.e building products and revenue streams to grow a more recurring engine

Hi Vaibhav ! Thankyou so much for such informative video :) I can imagine how hard it is to create something like this for myself. The most terrifying part is hiring people and marketting the business. But I guess everything must work out in the end for me as well...as it worked out for you :) Thankyou Vaibhav :) One question - How and where did you learn the other related skills to run the business?

Please answer this question also - How do you decide the pricing for your services as well as your reaources ?

@@sumitsaini8012 Pricing can be very tough. I've had my business for over 10 years and I'm still adjusting. There's also the question around "Time and Materials" billing vs "Project-based" or "Milestone-based". We do "Time and Materials" and our rates range from $100/hr to $200/hr Canadian dollars. When I started I set my rate based on a very simple google search on what market rates were like but also how much I wanted to make as a salary. However, now looking back, one exercise I wish I did was calculate what you want to achieve within 5 years. Let's say in 5 years, you'd like to have a few employees, some office space, money for computers, software services etc. - add that all up to see what your expenses will be like. Taking that into consideration when you set your rate will help a lot. Hope that helps a bit.

Thats the main focus whilst we build up other revenue models to be honest. No secret recipe here other than long hours and keeping the dedicated teams focused on delivering their work. TBH a good focused team makes all the difference
