How to Start a Caddying Side Hustle

In this video you will learn everything you need to know to start making money as a caddy!
Being a caddie is defined as, "a person who carries a golfer's clubs and provides other assistance during a match". However, caddying is much much more than this. In addition to doing various tasks, a true caddy acts as a friend and loyal companion to there golfer. Not only is it a well paying side hustle, it also can be started at nearly any age. In fact, in this video you will see how Alex started caddying at the age of 12 years old, and will learn everything you need to know to get started yourself!

I grew up within eyesight of Wheaton College. I could see the "steeple" on the Billy Graham Center from my back yard.

Thx man! I’m planning to Be a Caddie as my first job as soon as I get into high school and throughout college to. I’m not to familiar with golf but the fact that I’m constantly working out, it has good pay, and I will be able to work on my social skills, and have great opportunities is really getting me hyped for my first job, If you don’t mind me asking, what exactly should I learn about golf and being a caddy before I start? I’m still unsure what I will be doing besides carrying bags and calculating for my player. Once again thx +1 sub

That’s awesome dude best of luck with it!! You honestly don’t need to know much but I would definitely research the difference between different clubs and have them memorized. This will help quite a bit as well as knowing how scoring in golf works. Besides that you should pick everything else up!

Hey I am 14 and I just got into highschool too! I wanna find a caddying job. Did you get yours already? If so how did you apply or like find a application because I can't seem to find an application online. Did you call your local golf course?

@@kianawong1067 I’m not in highs school yet, but I’d assume you’d have to contact your local golf club to started, or alternatively you could look at job listings online for local golf caddie applications.

I love golf and this seems like a great job for me. How can I find which golf courses in my area have caddie programs? I’ve searched but it’s been hard to find for me except for one.

At age 14, is it particularly difficult to be hired as a caddy, or do I show up with a good attitude and get the job easily? I’d assume there is a LOT of competition given the pay.

I started caddying at 14 through the Youth on Course caddie program, check it out; it’ll definitely get you foot in the door. $50 plus tip per round

Nope! You could buy a rangefinder but that’s entirely optional. The golf course will provide divot fixers and scorecards for you to use as well

Can I still caddy if I am a girl? Is it like a job where mostly guys are hired I’m curious to know

From my experience it was probably 85% guys and 15% girls although you can absolutely do it!

I think it's better if you're a girl. Because there are so few of them as caddies. There are players that want a female as a caddy. There are a lot of female golfers that would feel more comfortable with a female caddy. And, not to sound like a creep, but if you made yourself a little 'dolled up', business men would love to have you as their caddy.

@@sofiagodoy2133 ha. yea, there are actually i think these 3 women on Instagram that go by like The Caddie Girls or Caddie Babes or something like that. They are just really attractive and they charge outrageously high prices like thousands of dollars for 1 round and they are in high demand. I think they have a million followers on instagram. I know this is an extreme example, but an example nontheless.

Everything you need to know will be taught in training so technically no! With that said, I would highly recommend watching a few KZfaq videos at least to get an idea of the rules of golf 👍🏻

It probably depends on the number of jobs you take a week, plus how much you get per time you caddy.

If I caddy for the summer 5 days a week, will I have enough to afford myself a cheap car? I’m turning 16 and my mom works at a country club and got me the job already

@@wetbubbles1538 Assuming a cheap car is around $2-3k I definitely think you could make enough. If you can make $200 a week for 3 months you'll make $2,400 which is very doable. Keep in mind you'll make the most on weekends and during tournaments so isn't a bad idea to caddy 3 days a week and then mow lawns or do something else monday-thursday.

@@thecollegehustle2402 depends where you live and the course. I know I a lot of friends who work at courses in the New York area and the the going rate for carrying one bag is $125-150. Most of these guys are carrying 2 bags each round to they make $250-300 per round
