Thanks Pam, great info! I just wanted to let newbie Etsy sellers know that when I started last year I started by selling a few items to friends and uploaded the items to Etsy so that when I launched properly I had a few sales and reviews already. Then my 'proper' launch only had 1 product and I would buy the yarn after they ordered in the colour they chose! Even though I wasn't making a lot of profit I was able to test the market and build my ranking. Then, when I had enough proof that it worked for me I made my first wholesale order and started adding in more products. So you really can start of a shoe string! I also didn't use any tags or branding at first. I just wrote a little thank you note.

Just want to mention that thread crochet is often overlooked.....one big ball of thread and be found for 4 dollars, and a cheap steel hook, 2 mm or under, can be bought at your local thrift store for a song. A big ball of thread, 1100 yards, can easily make 4 doilies. And KZfaq is full of pattern tutorials.
