How to start a PIANO channel that gets views on YouTube

Here are my 7 tips on how to start a successful PIANO channel on KZfaq! Don't hesitate to ask any questions in the comment section below! :)
As of today, I am getting about 150 to 200 views daily, published 38 videos and been on KZfaq for roughly 4 months. I don't own all the secrets to growing a music channel, but I am happy to provide whatever information was helpful to me so far. Hope you like my home piano recording studio!
0:30 TIP 1: Get a digital keyboard with good sound quality
1:44 TIP 2: Record on USB flash drive
2:34 TIP 3: Camera with enough battery life - Proper lighting
3:29 TIP 4: Be memorable. Stand out! (camera glider)
4:36 TIP 5: Make your video titles discoverable (SEO)
9:20 TIP 6: Post consistently
10:18 TIP 7: Custom video thumbnails
I haven't shown you the video editing process and especially how I merge the audio recording to my videos, but the procedure is quite simple if you use Filmora. Let me know in the comments below if I should create a tutorial about this in the future.

This is great! As a relatively newer piano channel myself, it was hard to find advice specifically tailored towards this topic, as most are very general. I have a bunch of noobie questions… for context, I’ve been playing the piano for 20+ years, and I’m also a teacher. I’ve only recently started doing more with my talent but I wanted to look into starting a KZfaq channel, no matter how small it may be. So thank you for this guide! My questions are: 1. I have an old Suzuki digital piano that was bought in the year 2000. The piano is still in amazing condition, never had an issue once. But in terms of recording, there is no USB drive. There are some ports on it, some for maybe Microphone set up, Midis, headphones etc. if I have a piano like this, what’s the best way to record sound? 2. When recording the sound in your case on a USB, do you sync up the music on the USB with the video of you playing? Or does your camera catch everything including the sound? Sorry if that’s a terrible question haha. 3. Have you had any issues with copyright? For example, I love Anime music, and I’d love to post covers. But I have fear of being copyrighted. Does that happen, and if I do get a strike, what’s the consequences? Is it only to take the video down? 4. What camera do you use? Thanks for your help!

It's so good watching you speak for the first time on your channel. Thanks for all the wonderful tips, Michael. They're going to be very helpful for a lot of piano cover artists out there on KZfaq. I totally agree with you on everything that you said in your video. I especially like the fact that you pointed out that it's important to find out something that doesn't exist on KZfaq and that it would do us a lot of good if we could fill in that gap. I've unknowingly filled in a gap on KZfaq and the results were simply amazing. Hence, I can testify to that point of you mentioned. Great video, Michael. I hope that this will be the first of many videos in which you will offer useful tips to pianists/musicians on KZfaq. Oh, yea. 5:40 thanks for the idea! Lol. I dont have an 88 key keyboard. I only have 61 keys so maybe i'll use that to my advantage in the title that the piece i'm playing is played on 61 keys. Something to that effect. Great idea! Thanks!

Many thanks for this great advice. I'll try changing the titles of my classical vids. Re: scheduling, after I have uploaded my next classical piece, I'll try non classical stuff as well. (It's not always easy to schedule when I have a full time responsibility as a carer. As such I'm also still testing how often I can upload). At the moment I'm running Synthogy Ivory 2 played on a Kawai VPC1 but I will be expanding that library with VSL Synchron and Keyscape - and I'll do some walkthroughs on each. Lots of ideas...

@@pardonmypiano Good instrument - very nice sounding and very versatile. I think It will be good for me to have two different Steinways when recording two piano works. I'm going to try for the full version of VSL Synchron D-274 and the MIR plug-in reverb for both instruments.

it is a bit frustrating!! I usually always dispute the copyrights. Sometimes they get removed :)

More recently, yes. It avoids problems in the future. I did some piano covers when I started my piano channel but after I got in the KZfaq partner program I've only used public domain content😊 there's so many options!

I love your video. I have a question about the music you use? Do you have to have copyright permission for each piece of music? How do you publish on KZfaq without KZfaq flagging the video with copyright violations? Thanks.

you would have to have permission for each piece of music :) If you don't, YT will make a copyright claim meaning that in 95% percent of cases you will not be able to monetize that video. In 5% of cases, the video will be removed. There's a lot of music in public domain though!

The thing we have to correct is when we say digital keyboard. Their are 2 things here. Is it a keyboard, or digital piano. The correct term is a digital piano. A digital keyboard doesn’t make sense. If you are referring to a keyboard that is one instrument. If you are talking about a digital piano that is a piano. It is describing the piano. So a keyboard is not a digital piano. A digital piano is not a keyboard. A digital piano is a piano that is digitally emulating the acoustic instruments and it has a piano body.

Hey i wanted to ask that if I put piano covers on yt then will i get copyright strike? Amd does piano covers get monetized???

there's a small chance you will get a copyright strike, most 99% don't really care if don't monetize you cover. There's also a chance the video might get removed. You can monetize some piano covers BUT many times all the money goes to the original artist...

Good question! Some do, but I always dispute the copyrights because it is hundred percent original work. 90 percent of the time the copyright gets removed ❤️
